SUN OPPOSING SATURN
This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.
It is important to understand that the Sun rules masculine energy, the identity, ego, individuality, power and pride, while Saturn rules stability, authority figures, the father discipline, limitation and responsibility. The Sun represents your identity, ego, confidence and personality. Saturn limits, conserves and reserves energy. In other words, Saturn is hardly flamboyant.
This aspect reveals a tempered personality. You may feel like you have to pull back or you may feel restricted in being all you can be. You may catch yourself saying, "Damn it, everytime I start to _____________ something happens!" It will be just like that where you feel like there is some outside force that is deliberately keeping YOU from attaining your ambitions and becoming your best self. You may even feel defeated and lack the confidence (Sun) you need in order to shine your Light.
Honestly speaking, I don't think this aspect shows up in a chart just to give someone a hard time. I believe this aspect shows up in a person's chart because they need to ego or personality checked. Like a big ol' thump on the head from the Universe. This year President Trump is going to experience this aspect in his 2017 - 2018 Solar Return Report, which will either bring him to his knees in prayer or it will bring him to his knees in defeat. I believe this aspect has to occur in our Solar Return's at some point in order to keep us humble. Sometimes some people will get hit harder by this aspect simply because they need to. And then there are those who will experience this aspect in their Natal Chart because it is THAT important that they remain humble and checked throughout their entire Life. Certainly as we all should, but those who have this aspect in their Natal Chart are being checked, humbled and brought to their knees every single day.
There is an identity crisis associated with this aspect because the Sun rules the identity and how we 'appear' to others, both in personality and physical appearance. The identity crisis could be something as simple as, "I'm a wife/husband, mother/father, but I have no idea who the hell I am or what the hell I am supposed to do with this Life!" This aspect can be incredibly frustrating wherein there is a constant question over your head wondering if you are doing the right thing or if you are on the right path.
Saturn is restricting your Sun from shining. Saturn is a dark, pessimistic and skeptical planet, so you may feel as though you have a dark cloud overhead. This aspect will likely not receive approval from where you seek it. Look under another rock because its not under that one or that one or that one or that one. This aspect will humble you to the point where you will finally have to drop the big ego. Since the Sun is masculine (testosterone energy) and Saturn is father or authority figure energy, I wouldn't expect a pat on the back or a huge show of "got nothin' but Love for ya" during this opposition.
Since the Sun is the natural ruler of the 5th house of children and Saturn is the restrictor and limitor, there will be a restriction on children either through visitation, pregnancy or some sort of condition where issues with children arise. Those with this aspect in their Natal Chart rarely have children and those with this aspect in their Solar Return will likely have issues with children either having them or dealing with them.
This aspect can also cause big problem with an authority figure, namely the father since Saturn is planet of the father and both planets have testosterone associated with them.
