VENUS OPPOSING SATURN

This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.

Venus not only rules love, dating, romance and relationships, it also rules money, self-worth, earned income, morals, values and possessions.

It is important to understand that Venus rules Love, beauty and relationships. Venus is aesthetic and artistic. There is an attachment or response to beauty. Saturn is the authority figure and father figure. It is the responsible one, the disciplinarian and the enforcer of rules, laws and governing. Saturn is the restrictor, limitor and stabilizing force.

This is a very rough aspect for money and relationships because Venus rules both. Venus is the co-ruler of Taurus and Libra. Taurus rules self-worth, personal money and possessions, while Libra rules committed relationships, marriages and partnerships. So you see, with a square to Venus from Saturn, it makes money and relationships a challenge.

Venus opposing Saturn gets partnerships, marriages, houses, families and homes alike churning and agitating like a washing machine over money and Love. The energy is being pulled in two (2) different directions. At this writing in 2025 Venus is in Virgo (details) and Saturn is in Pisces (fairytales). While one person is focused on money, what is going in and out, the other person is planning a party, a trip or a romantic dinner. Someone knows exactly what is going on in the world and the other person thinks they do. Sound like your house or family?

Venus opposing Saturn pretty much brings a dark cloud looming over money and Love. While Venus naturally rules both the 2nd house of personal money, morals, values and self-worth, which translates into net-worth, Venus also rules the 7th house of committed relationships, marriages, business partnerships and contractual unions and agreements.

Saturn is a co-ruling planet. It is the ancient ruler of cold, aloof and emotionally distant Aquarius, and is also the natural ruler of Capricorn, the sign that is all-business and no-monkey-business, which makes it emotionally strict and serious. So you see, Venus is in Virgo (details) and Saturn is in Pisces (fairytales), meaning in opposite signs pulling the energy in two (2) different directions.

This is a looming feeling with Venus square Saturn. It's scary when you have a question mark over money and Love.

Needless to say, there may be a lot of, "Honey we need to talk" energy in the air. While one wants to talk about money and Love, the other is dodging the conversation or confrontation. Well, it's gonna happen so you might as well either sit down at the kitchen table and talk it out, or stand-up and speak-up. Every couple needs to be on the same page. ON THE SAME PAGE, not opposite pages.

If you are single, while it might be nice to have a little help or a little CMA (cover my ass) back-up-help, perhaps you can source that assistance or back-up through a friend or a family member. Maybe it's advice, maybe it's trading or sharing, or maybe it's more. It's wise to know who you can lean on, not count on. It's hard to count on yourself to straighten up and fly right without counting on others to rise to your occasion. So straighten-up and sober-up folks. This can certainly be a dark and cruel aspect.

So here we have Venus opposing Saturn, which essentially doubles its restriction because Venus naturally rules Libra, which naturally squares (beware) Capricorn because Saturn naturally rules Capricorn. So this is a natural square anyway, but now it is an opposition too. Arrgh! What a mess!

At the same time, Venus also naturally rules Taurus, which naturally trines Saturn because Capricorn and Taurus are Earth signs. So there's that!

So while all is going on in the world, this makes it necessary to confront the stressor at home that is giving you the headache. This means the words, "Honey we need to talk" needs to be uttered and it's time to sit on the couch and tell it like it is. It's a tough time but dodging important questions right now will cause further problems.

If you do not talk and then allow the situation to rain on your relationship, Life, finances, etc., then this is going to hurt and leave a mark. If you will not talk about it or confront it, then Life gets real hard, even harder.

While this is usually an aspect that we want to pass over and NOT say, "Honey we need to talk" the timing is different. We can not and should not ignore the obvious. This aspect is going to create some real trouble for couples where one is spending on completely UNNECESSARY things, while the other person is trying to save or make purchases for things that are NECESSARY. Big difference.
