As I wrote to you yesterday, Mercury (the ruling planet of Gemini) has turned to Retrograde status. This makes it 'appear' as though Mercury is moving backward but it is not, folks it's just an illusion. Come on, seriously, no planet ever really moves backward. While this appearance may be an illusion, our response to an illusion is very real. Now I'm speaking about our 'response' to the illusion. During this Mercury Retrograde period, up until November 10, 2013, note your response to glitches, delays, detours and anything that requires maintenance or if it is under maintenance. Mercury Retrograde is a fantastic time to back track and do maintenance and repair. Retrograde periods give us a do-over, which helps us to get things right before we progress forward. If you forget everything else about the term 'Retrograde,' just remember that last line I typed . . . "Retrograde periods give us a do-over, which helps us to get things right before we progress forward." It's really quite exciting that the Universe gives us a second and even a third chance before we move on. You see as a planet moves forward in crosses over a set of degrees (mark that as the first time), when it turns Retrograde it back tracks over those same degrees (mark that as the second time) and then when it turns Direct, it goes forward and passes over those same degrees again (mark that as the third time). It's really quite interesting that you get three chances to get your act together.

Let's talk about getting our act together under this Mercury Retrograde status, ESPECIALLY WHILE we have a Gemini Moon present today and tomorrow (because Mercury naturally rules Gemini) so your comprehension of this is going to be much better under this Gemini influence. If you notice in the first paragraph above I give you some keywords about Gemini. Well, Mercury is also the natural ruling planet of Virgo and the keywords for Virgo are: analytical, health, hygiene, fitness, nutrition, routine, regimen, in-service, volunteer, co-workers, employees, daily grind, organization, scheduling, neatness, clean, critical, mastery and perfection.

So here we have the need to get our act together in the areas that Gemini and Virgo rule. Mercury is pulling double-duty here like Venus pulls double-duty ruling both Taurus and Libra. Folks, this is organization in its finest hour. Mercury calls for us to plan ahead and be prepared. Mercury wants us to adapt, be alert, accurate and active. Stagnated energy is the absolute worst thing that could happen where Mercury is present because it is fluid motion. In other words, it has to move. Remember, Mercury rules communication, transportation, exercise, health, organization, maintenance (see both Gemini and Virgo keywords). MERCURY NEEDS TO MOVE!!! When a Gemini is bored, it is stagnated energy and that is not Good. When a Virgo procrastinates, it is stagnated energy and that is not Good either. Stagnated energy in communication or transportation is grid-lock and stagnated energy in health and hygiene is sick and smelly. So you see, this Mercury energy wants you to be fluid and mobile at all times. It wants you to fix, repair, maintain and above all it wants you to be alert, active and mobile. MOVE YOUR DANG CHI'!

This is a mega-mondo fantastic time for you to get your act together. Mercury is going to get a lot of blame during this time and probably rightfully due if something was not prepared and maintained as it should have been. Glitches happen a lot less when there is preparation and routine maintenance. Notice how I used the word 'routine' maintenance because that's a Virgo word. We see a lot of cars breaking down during Mercury Retrograde and usually due to a lack of maintenance. Hey if a daily $4.00 latte is more important to you as a daily routine, which could easily turn into $80 to $100 a month at that rate, instead of spending that money on a $20 oil change, you might see where you could have an issue in both the body and the car. EEEK! Transportation is a Gemini thing ruled by Mercury. The same goes with going to the dentist, which is usually due to a lack of maintenance on the patient's part. Just sayin'. Health and hygiene are Virgo traits because they require maintenance and routine. When you look at Gemini under this Gemini Moon (see keywords above) you can see the house this impacts for your entire sign but also look closely at your personal Natal Chart to see where you need to get your act together as well (prepared and maintained) and when you look at Virgo (see keywords in 4th paragraph above) you can see this impacts your daily routine including health, hygiene and fitness . . also work ethic, so be on time.

The 5th house has to do with children, fun, romance, dating, intimacy, creativity and being lively. The 8th house has to do with joint resources between two people and the sharing of wealth. The 8th house is also intimacy and closeness with finances and sex. You have to admit finances and sex are incredibly personal and intimate things to know about someone else. Maybe, just maybe, you need to get your act together and have a little more fun in Life and work on becoming a bit more intimate with those who are closest to you. Intimacy is not always sex, it is a close trusting bond between two people. Mercury is highlighting these two houses during this time where proper maintenance is required of you.
