On Tuesday, November 6, 2018 the North and South Node make their move into Cancer and Capricorn until May 5, 2020. The North Node represents where our 'cup runneth over' and the South Node represens the 'bottomless pit', meaning no matter how much energy you pour into the South Node, you are wasting your time because you cannot fill it up.
It is fascinating that this nodal transit arrives on mid-term election day here in the U.S. Since Capricorn and Saturn rule the Democrat Party, take note that Pluto, Saturn and the South Node are all in Capricorn thereby putting a severe squeeze and limitation on the Democrat Party. Read on and you will see what I mean.
The North and South Node ALWAYS move Retrograde and are ALWAYS in opposite signs so that means Cancer and Capricorn are opposite signs. Before we roll out any further with this write-up, let's get a sharper look at what the word opposite really means. When something is opposite of another it is still the same, but of a different type. Whether it is gender, temperature, monetary, etc., there is something equal to it, yet opposite of it.
For instance there is male and female, they are equally human and opposite in gender. There is hot and cold, they are equally about temperature and opposite in their degree of temperature. Whatever the subject matter is, there is an equal and opposite counterpart. And so it goes with the Sun Signs and so it goes with the Nodes. If you look at the symbol for the Nodes to your left, you will see that the North Node is open at the bottom of the horseshoe and the South Node is open at the top of the horseshoe. They are equal, yet opposite. As are the signs of this nodal connection. The North Node in Cancer and South Node in Capricorn are opposite sun signs.
If you have been coming to my website long enough, then you know that I put a very heavy emphasis on the North and South Nodes in our natal chart. These are extremely sensitive points in the chart that when tapped by us, meaning when we use them as direction or turn signals, they can serve us very well and cut our challenging issues to a minimum. The Nodes are major areas of influence for success to take shape in our Life. The North Node is our dharma (future) and the South Node is our past (karma).
The North Node is where your cup runneth over and the South Node is the bottomless pit or drain. When you put energy into the North Node, you simply cannot fail. If you put your energy in the South Node it will become a drain and you can't possibly fill up a bottomless pit. It's impossible because it is bottomless! The South Node is the 'hole in the chart'. No matter how much time, energy, money, Love or attention you give the South Node, you will not win. But alas, that is what we do as humans. We see or feel that South Node and for some reason, we believe that we can conquer it. We weren't meant to conquer it. The North Node is our destiny (destination) and if we move in the direction of the North Node, we simply cannot fail.
The North Node in Cancer brings us back to 'what we say' really matters to us and that is inside our home, which is our family. The focus is back on the family, the roots, ancestry, where we came from and who is our blood. Cancer is the sign of the nurturer, whereas Capricorn is the sign of the authoritarian.
The sign of Cancer rules the home, family, domestic life, our childhood, the childhood home, our biological and psychological foundation (where we grew up), ancient dwellings, domestic engineers, gardners, homesteads, homemaking, hotels, housekeepers, land, land owners, landscapers, farmers, farming, produce, mines, mining, miners, motels, nursing homes, long-term residential care facilities, residence(s), renters, real estate, real estate agents, rooms, the north and north corner of a room, rooming, roommates, underground places, tunnels, underground passages and places where treasure or sacred things are buried.
Domestic security is also ruled by Cancer, which includes defending the home and the homeland (one's country). This would not only involve security such as a home security system, but national security in defending the homeland. This could also easily turn into 'martial law' when the homeland takes drastic measures to protect itself, from itself. This could look like an individual sitting on their front porch with a shotgun defending their property or martial law protecting its city.
Keep in mind that the sign of Cancer also rules - the mother, the breasts, armpits, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, reproductive system, uterus and wombs. Cancer and Capricorn both rule hypochondria (there's always something wrong).
The South Node in Capricorn causes us to seek outside of our own space (home) what we say matters, thereby taking us into our work, profession or career. This the typical 'Dorothy Syndrome' as she sought her happiness outside of own backyard. Capricorn is the sign of the authoritarian, whereas Cancer is the sign of the nurturer.
The sign of Capricorn rules the career, profession, public recognition, rank in society, status in the community, what the public thinks of you, celebrities, CEO's, ambitions, those in a position of authority or influence, politicians, the government, bosses, managers, executives, public administration, land owners, mining engineers, excavators, industrial engineers, the south and south corner of a room, town halls, vacant property, vaults, vaulted passages, underground places where objects and materials are kept, urns, The Vatican, churches, priests, Father Time, night watchmen and security guards.
Security at work or securing one's profession, or maintaining control through a need to 'take charge' like a military general or sargeant. There is a tendency for Capricorn to care more about what people on the outside of their home and family think of them, more than they care about what the home and family members think of them. This can easily be seen in celebrities and the links at which they will go for attention, accolades, applause, reward, recognition, rank and status. Capricorn gains their security from outside of the home. Instead of home and family being the most important, work becomes the most important. We may hear or say, "Can't you see that I'm working all of these hours for the family" while the family falls apart due to lack of Love and attention. Capricorn is the sign of the authoritarian or the controller. Capricorn takes charge like a military general and starts barking out marching orders. That may work 'at work' but it will not work 'at home'.
Keep in mind that the sign of Capricorn also rules - the father, the skin, teeth, bones, bruises, joints, hair, knees, elbows, skin issues, the spleen, the skeleton. Capricorn and Cancer both rule hypochondria (there's always something wrong).
