The BIG NEWS today is Mercury in Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces. I always find this to be a funny little aspect considering the signs these two planets rule, that they could come together and make something cool out of the energy. You see folks, Mercury is the natural co-ruler of Gemini and Virgo, even though right now it is in the sign of Capricorn. Neptune is the natural ruler of Pisces. The energy of Mercury being the natural ruler of Gemini, naturally squares Pisces. And the energy of Mercury being the natural ruler of Virgo, naturally opposes Pisces. An opposition is like a tug-of-war but can certainly be the perfect balance. And there's more! Gemini and Virgo, which are both ruled by Mercury, naturally square each other. Squares are sharp angle's and feel like an elbow in your side. So while these energies naturally square and oppose each other, they come together in this sextile and make some cool energy together. Even more . . . Gemini and Virgo rule the conscious and reasoning mind, while Pisces rules the unconscious and imaginative mind. So we shake that up and this is what falls out.

Misdirection is a form of deception where the attention of the audience is focused on one thing in order to distract their attention from something else. The trick is to manage the audience's attention, as is the goal in all of theater. While you have them looking at this, you are doing THAT! Gaining and holding the audience's attention is the most important requirement of theatrical magic (illusion). So this aspect is thinking ahead, to get ahead, way ahead, and have its way with the mind, other's mind. It is both thought-full and thoughtful.
