Mars in Aries from June 27, 2020 until January 6, 2021 on DrStandley.com

MARS KEYWORDS: Energy, aggressiveness, action, initiative, impulsiveness, adventurous, physical energy, courage, assertiveness and rash.

Mars moves into Aries on June 27, 2020 until January 6, 2021. That is a long time for Mars to roll through Aries because Mars typically stays in a Sun Sign about 6 weeks. When Mars experiences a Retrograde, like it will in 2020, then it will cause Mars to remain in Aries for just over 6 months.

Folks, life is about to pick up speed because Mars does not like to wait on anyone. I suspect this is going to make for some rambunctious and impatient individuals of all sorts because they, we, us, are going to get tired of waiting on change and will start pushing on those in a position of authority to make some changes. This has everything to do with Cancer and Capricorn. Here's the breakdown.

It's important to remember what signs are impacting other signs. Whenever you see the word SQUARE make a mental note that when there is a SQUARE present, there are two (2) signs separating two (2) other signs. In this case we have Mars moving into Aries. The signs that SQUARE Aries are Cancer and Capricorn. That is because Taurus and Gemini are the two (2) signs that separate Aries and Cancer. And Pisces and Aquarius are the two (2) signs that separate Aries and Capricorn. So there you have it, Aries squares Cancer and Capricorn. Got it?

Now let's break it down even further. What do Cancer and Capricorn have in common. AUTHORITY FIGURES! Who'd of thought, Cancer has an authority figure. Well THE MOTHER! Mother's pretty much dictate what food is in the refrigerator, what color the house will be painted and what doctors the family goes to. Mother's call the shots inside the home and family even if you think dad does. When mama isn't happy, no freakin'body is happy. Am I right? Mother's are the boss inside the home and family for many reasons. Mother's say what goes on inside the home. And interestingly enough, there are some mother's who cannot or will not speak up or stand up inside the home and in that way they still dictate what occurs, even when they choose to do nothing. Just sayin'.

Capricorn is Cancer's direct opposite sign. So the signs that square one sign, are the signs that oppose each other. Holy Wow! While Cancer rules what goes on inside the home, Capricorn rules what goes on outside of the home, in public eye and in the area of career, rank in society and status in the community. Cancer cares about what goes on inside the home, which is childhood and the psychological and biological foundation, and Capricorn rules what the public thinks and who gets public recognition (statues, uh oh) from this point on.

I'll add an extra note here, the sign that is opposite to Aries is Libra. And Libra's square are Capricorn and Cancer. Libra is separate from Capricorn by Scorpio and Sagittarius, and Libra is separated by Virgo and Leo from Cancer. Now all four (4) of those signs are Cardinal Signs as they are the signs that represent the beginning of the seasons - Aries (beginning of spring), Cancer (beginning of summer), Libra (begining of fall) and Capricorn (the beginning of winter). Read more about Cardinal Signs here.

Now look at these last couple of paragraphs with some full eyes. Aries is the individual - me, myself and I. Cancer is the maternal authority figure. Capricorn is the paternal authority figure. Libra is the sign of committed relationships and partnerships, and coupling up with someone else either romantically as in marriage or a business partnership. Do you see this serious dance that is playing out there. LOOK CLOSER! Stop right here and think before you read further. Get up, walk around, grab another cup of coffee and think before you read any further. Geez, it makes me sick that everyone keeps blaming politicians (and Trump) for the bad behavior going on in the world. Think astrotators, THINK! [Then keep reading . . . ]

As Mars enters the sign of Aries, it will be in its early degrees, so Mars in Aries will be squaring the Sun in Cancer and Mercury in Cancer. There is going to be a lot of internal energy from individuals (Aries energy - me, myself and I) that is pointing the finger at their childhood, their biological and psychological foundation and the mother, for what did or did not occur to them. Oh it's on. Mom's that did not deliver, and I don't mean that in a birthing way, I mean that in a motherhood way, because we all know that birthing a child does not make you a mother, well mother's that did not deliver are about to get a revisit from their children with a lot of fingerpointing. The home and family cradle is about to get rocked. Kids are pissed because they grew up believing what you said or what you didn't say. Now listen mom's (and dad's who have had to be the mom), not everything is your fault. You can raise your kids and do everything as best you can with what you were taught, but that's the thing, WITH WHAT YOU WERE TAUGHT. And that's what we go back to because the North and South Node are in Gemini and Sagittarius and reminding us, "What were we taught?" The Aries energy is rocking the family cradle and there will be tears. Aries is a very defensive sign as it defends, but it also likes to be defended and have you on their side. There will likely be fingerpointing, blame, words on this very topic. "You didn't defend me!"

Now let's bring in Libra, the opposite sign of Aries. Mercury will move into Libra on September 5, 2020 and the Sun will move into Libra on September 22, 2020 and we will see Mars opposing begin to oppose Mercury and the Sun when they get into their later degrees. By the time Mercury moves into Libra, Mars will have already been slowing down significantly because it Retrogrades on September 9, 2020 until November 13, 2020. So Mars is going to zip back and forth over Libra energy, which is its opposing sign, which puts me, myself and I (Aries) in a tug-of-war with us, we and our (Libra). As we move out of the mother, childhood and the biological foundation and get our wits about ourselves, we see experience how this impacted our committed relationships, marriages and partnerships. If your childhood sh-- is not yet ironed out, you will see relationship issues as the result. It's best to own what you did or didn't do as a result of your parents or by your own decisions as a parent, so you can apologize, see the other person's side (the child or parent) and move along with your Life. When we wait for the Universe to get in-our-face, it never feels Good.

By the time we get into November 2020, we will experience Venus in Libra opposing Mars in Aries from early to mid-November. Damn it! More of the same, but alas my dear little Astrotators, this can be a beautiful coupling if you use it as the perfect-balance instead of the tug-of-war. This DOES NOT have to be a tug-of-war. You always get to choose and the perfect-balance will be your 'way of escape' with this energy. YOU ARE NOT YOUR PARENTS RELATIONSHIP or are you? Hey, maybe your parents had the perfect relationship and now you are trying to create that kind of perfection, when there perfection is not really your perfect relationship.

And then to finalize this cruddy energy of squares, if you have still not learned how not to destroy other people's property because you are mad about what you were taught when you were a child, then the father energy, CAPRICORN, will gladly enter the picture, take off his belt and swat your ass hard. Remember, Capricorn is ruled by Saturn who wears a BELT of rings. Jupiter and Pluto are in the later degrees already and as Mars catches up in the later degrees in September and then Retrogrades are goes backwards, that square will really have individuals squaring off with authority. But authority is only going to take so much before it stops taking punches to the face because you weren't taught how to respect others or forgot how to use the words "please" and "thank you" and "excuse me" and "can I" and to stop interrupting others when they are speaking. That's a North and South Node inference there. Everyone is rude? Have you looked at your own learned behaviors? OUCHY! Mom make her stop!

Remember, Capricorn is Cancer's opposite sign and rules the father, father figures, authority, authority figures, government, military, those in a high position of rank or status in the community, divas, celebrities, public recognition and those who are famous or trying to remain famous (or relevant) for that matter. People have had it. The push back is hard and fierce. The Aries individual says, "YOU DON'T GET TO TREAT ME THIS WAY!"

So now let's consider what the Aries Ram really is. It's a male bighorn sheep that lives in the mountains. When the ram is in a disagreement, dispute or argument, he will settle that fight by physically ramming his head into his opponents head. Interestingly enough, this isn't a quick process. Rams can ram their heads into each other for hours. So it turns out the impatient ram does have some patience, at least when it comes to WINNING! Rams should not be confused with mountain goats because they are not one in the same. Now this is super-dooper-interesting because mountains goat is Capricorn energy. Aries and Capricorn find it tough to get along anyway because they SQUARE each other, so this is going to be a rough patch as Mars in Aries will be squaring Capricorn planets pretty much most of the time until the Mars in Aries energy ends on January 6, 2021.

Coupling Mars assertion and drive with Aries is actually in its 'home' placement, so Mars is quite comfortable and excited to have Mars on its home turf, but don't piss it off. It's like having a home game instead of an away game. The game is always played harder and stronger on its on home turf and not in front of a strange audience. This gives Mars a lot of confidence, as if Mars need any confidence-building.

During Mars in Aries there is a strong drive to initiate activities. This energy is very spontaneous, enjoys a challenge and likes to take risks. Having said that, this placement may also be rash and accident prone. It can also make you pushy and aggressive if thwarted. This position is very impulsive as Mars naturally rules Aries. The first instinct for Mars in Aries is to take action. This transit of Mars does not sit back and wait for others to act, this transit of Mars wants to be first and finish first. It will push women and children aside in order to get through the door first.

Quick flare-ups characterize this placement, but the anger usually doesn't last for too long because Mars just moves along. In fact, this transit of Mars does not live in the past, and is not given to holding grudges or feeling resentful as it has bigger fish to fry and better things to do with its time. Generally, the temper comes quickly, which means anger is dealt with right away as there is little room or time for festering. Gosh, can you remember that? Please remember that. At the same time this does not give you a license to flare-up and throw a temper-tantrum. If you think all of this is about politics, guess again. CLEAN UP YOUR HOME AND PERSONAL LIFE and quit blaming the world. What did you learn from your parents and what in heck are you teaching your children?

This transit of Mars does make for a Good listener and it will help you listen to intuition and trust your instincts in order to get things accomplished. Mars in Aries, it's home placement is very instinctual. It's an instincts thing. This can help you make fast and decent decisions. Mars in Aries does not naturally stop to smell the roses or consider others point of view when deciding what to do next. It acts! In fact, decision making works at lightning speed. Spontaneity and simplicity are the assets to use.

Mars in Aries is typically one step ahead of the rest of everyone else. A life that is too predictable is simply not enough. What's to enjoy if you already know what is next? This transit begins with new ideas, pioneering action, and fresh projects that make you very happy. No other transit Loves a challenge quite like this one. But take care, you do not need to rock the boat and splash everyone else in order to accomplish. No one needs to get hurt in order to succeed or win.

Relationships 'can be' exciting with this transit, although keeping up with them can be difficult. This transit is given to impulsive action, and is not known for sticking things through. Although physical energy is great, you can easily lose your initial enthusiasm quickly, especially with a 'new' relationship. Excitement wanes quickly with this transit.

Mars in Aries is easily irritated by indirectness from others because it expects others to say things straight with no beating around the bush, side-stepping or dancing around an issue. SAY IT DAMN IT!

This transit is also easily impatient with convoluted plans, or with people who are slow to action. Oh my gosh .....JUST GO!!!!!

Mars in Aries has a childlike quality. At the same time it can be downright rude and impatient, but at least others will know exactly what you are after. This transit pulls no punches.

Mars in Aries packs an enormous amount of energy that 'must be' channeled in a creative and/or productive manner, otherwise it will burst at the seams and everyone will get splattered. There has to be a way for this energy to blow, like an explosion on to the scene or there will be a lot of correcting, back-tracking and clean up in its wake. This Mars position is very active and take the initiative. If you say, "Who wants to be first?" Mars in Aries is already at the front of the pack saying, "I'll do it!" Sometimes it's hard to tell if this Mars placement is courageous, impulsive or a bit crazy (in a pioneering way).

Mars in Aries wakes up and hits the ground running. Mars in Aries is in its 'home placement', meaning Mars naturally rules Aries, so it is in its happy place, remember that. Stay Astrologized™.
