The BIG NEWS today is Saturn in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces and Mercury in Cancer conjunct Mars in Cancer. Take note that anytime Saturn is involved, then self-discipline is required. Anytime Neptune is involved, then imagination is present. ALWAYS!
Remain mindful, even though the Full Moon has moved out of Sagittarius and the Moon is now in Capricorn, the fullness of the Moon is still very much present and now we receive the full experience of these two (2) major aspects.
Saturn sextile Neptune requires focus and self-discipline where imagination and creativity are being used. This aspect reminds me of Steven Spielberg who has this aspect in his natal chart. During the making of the movie, 'Jaws', which was the second movie he directed, he had mounds of obstacles shooting this movie 'on the water'. It would have taken someone like him with Saturn (structure and discipline) sextile Neptune (water and the Ocean) to overcome all of the issues the production was experiencing. No director every really shot a movie on the water, not like Steven Spielberg was doing. As it turned out, the movie made him an international superstar among directors. He held the focus amongst the choppy waters. Everything was stacked against him, but he held his 'focused imagination' while the film ate his budget, but in the end the movie earnings far exceeded expectations and it was all worth it. Focused imaginatinon!
You can also think of the 'focused imagination' as that of a painter, musician or dancer who has to have focused imagination in order to reach their intended goal. Saturn is a very ambitious and hard-working sign. Hours of practice, hours of creativity and hours of production until the masterpiece is finally unveiled. Saturn will not allow anything to obstruct its path while Neptune is creating. Focused imagination!
There is also a high degree of secrecy with the aspect since Neptune rules 'what goes on behind closed doors'. There is a lot of action and work behind-the-scenes, which is exactly what Steven Spielberg was doing as the director of the movie, 'Jaws'. There is a talent for drawing out something from 'the deep' where the imagination resides.
Let's not forget the 'high standards' involved with Saturn. By nature Saturn is a workaholic and a perfectionist because it is 'in charge'. Saturn knows that the blame rests on the one in charge of the troops, so Saturn is not looking for blame, it is looking for praise and praise comes when 'high standards' are achieved. The toughest part of this aspect is that Saturn sextile Neptune also expects others to rise to the challenge of meeting the 'high standard'. Shape up or ship out. Literally!
Mercury conjunct Mars is a fabulous aspect for finding out information because this aspect is mentally aggressive and needs to find out the Truth. This is the perfect aspect for investigators, journalists, reporters and investigative journalists. If this aspect shows up in any given day but its not in that natal chart, it is still a fabulous tool for finding out what you need to know. This aspect will cause you to say what you think without considering what the result might be. It is a decisive and action oriented aspect. It is also excellent for making speeches and talking about controversial topics.
Since Mars is involve, then this aspect is competitive and it will try to flex its intellectual prowess and out-speak another person in a debate or even in an argument, constantly attempting to show that they know more than someone else. You may feel as though you are intellectually superior to others or it may be the other person who thinks they are intellectually superior to you. This aspect is direct, confrontational and it can be rude.
This aspect is in opposition to the Capricorn planets of Saturn, Pluto and the South Node which creates heated arguments where someone tries to overpower others with their mind and intellect. In other words, this aspect can be an intellectual snob.
