The Moon in Leo is squaring (challenging) your 10th house public life. This house also rules fame, notoriety, occupation, career, ambition, government, military, chief executives, business life, goals, ranks, political position, status, standing in the public eye, position in society. It shows your standing in the community and social status. It can reflect your attitude to parenting. It also rules those in authority, the father and older men in authority.

The Leo influence is an all or nothing day for Scorpio. This means you will either receive the respect and admiration of your peers or they won't even acknowledge your existance. It's interesting because this pretty much matches the Scorpio attitude, "Love me or leave me" or "Take it or leave it." Since this is your approach to Life, then make certain you aren't too upset if someone else throws this attitude back in your face. This Leo energy serves Scorpio very well in your career because this is where your leadership qualities shine through.

Mercury is in Stationary Retrograde (Rx) position up until 6:04 PM EST where it will then be flat out and no doubt out it, Retrograde! Stationary Retrograde is basically like you stopping your car in order to put it into reverse. You can't do it while moving forward so you literally have to stop and then shift gears from 'drive' to 'reverse'. So that is what Stationary Retrograde Mercury is like on this U.S. Presidential Election Day. At 6:04 PM EST Mercury will begin moving backward in degrees just like you would then be moving backward in your car after you have stopped and put it in reverse. What the heck? Does that mean that all of those votes that were counted will have to recounted? Is there going to be another big ol' wait a second, that's not fair, we want a recount situation going on like there was in the election of 2000 between Bush and Gore? Prayerfully we have learned something since then about dangling chads, voting machines and dead people casting a ballot. What a mess? Honestly folks, I hope this thing doesn't get ugly where people begin rioting and wreaking havoc if things don't go their way. Pluto is in Capricorn squaring Uranus and Venus creating a very unhappy public. On top of Mercury Rx at 6:04 PM EST, at that exact moment the Moon in Leo at 14 degrees will be squaring the Sun in Scorpio at 14 degrees. That's some intensely fixed energy with some steamy emotional tension. I use the word steamy because we all know how hot steam can be. The Sun in Scorpio is a water sign and the Moon in Leo is a fire sign. Water + Fire = Steam \

Some people have stated that Mercury would not turn Retrograde until the polls closed but that's just not True. Here is a list of the poll closings state by state. Keep in mind that when it states 11:00 PM EST for California, then you need to remember that California is PST and 3 hours behind Eastern Time. So you see, the polls will still be open while Mercury is Retrograde. It's almost like a waaaait-just-a-dang-minute type of energy.
