Well Hallelujah Grandpa! Mars is finally leaving Aries after a long-ass haul from June 27, 2020 until today, January 6, 2021. Mars will typically stay in a sign for about six (6) weeks, so you can see, this has been quite a trek for Mars. This was due to a Retrograde that occurred back on September 9, 2020 until November 13, 2020.

Let's think this through for a second. June 27, 2020 until September 9, 2020 was a lot longer than six (6) weeks for Mars to be in a sign without moving into the next sign, so why didn't it change sign at about the six (6) week mark. You must remember that a planet will slow down to a snails pace and then stop so it can shift gears and go backward (reverse) in degrees. Just like when you are driving a car. You don't shift gears into reverse on the highway going 55 mph. Planets are the same. You have to gradually slow it down and come to a completely stop. Then and only then do you shift gears from 'drive' (direct motion) into reverse (retrograde motion).

So while Mars was coming upon that six (6) week mark, it began slowing down and slowing down and slowing down until it came to its 'Stationary' position of standing-still to shift gears into reverse. All along the way in the slow-mo period, it had ample opportunity to make aspects to other planets and stir up some issues and make them last longer. Because of this slow down and then retrograde action, this is why Mars squared Pluto three (3) times along its six (6) month trek through Aries.

Mars is the natural ruler of Aries, which resulted in some very nice Mars aspects, at the same time, it wreaked havoc along the way. The really tough news is all of the birth dates on the planet from June 27, 2020 until January 6, 2021 will have Mars in Aries in their 2020 or 2021 Solar Return with any of the tough aspects that were present until their next birthday. It's quite possible your birthday slid through the cracks and maybe some of those hard aspects escaped you.

I do need to remind you that Mars squared Pluto the whole way, more specifically from July 25, 2020 and will continue to leave residual squaring energy until January 12, 2021 even though Mars has moved out of Aries into Taurus. The energy is still rolling down the street and has not yet turned the corner out of our line of sight.

Now Mars moves into his detriment, in the sign of Taurus.

The 'detrimental' placement is when the planet is in the sign of the opposite sign that it naturally rules. While Mars is certainly the natural ruler of Aries, it is the ancient-ruler of Scorpio. Yes, Pluto is the modern-day ruler of Scorpio, while Mars is the ancient-ruler of Scorpio. Taurus and Scorpio are opposite signs and this is why Mars is in its detrimental placement. Detrimental placements remind me of a child saying, "SHE WAS MY FRIEND FIRST!" It's like, "How dare you side with that person while I'm over here. I see you!!!!" And then the placement begins to act out inappropriately for whatever reason seems to be the issue. Mars is competitive and can be jealous in that competitive mode because it is after all the ancient ruler of Scorpio. And in the sign of Taurus, which says, "MINE!" can be tough.

I'll tell you this, shopping is not my thing. But when I do know what I want, I enter the store going after that one 'thing'. Pushing through racks and trying to decide is definitely not who I am. But yesterday, I felt this energy, I wanted to act out inappropriately and I yelled to my sister and daughter, "I JUST WANT TO GO SHOPPING!" So we did. That was soooooo Mars in Taurus of me. I was acting out but didn't give a rat. It didn't change anything, but in the moment, I had some relief. That's Mars in Taurus for ya'.

A detrimental planet is like a fiesty child throwing a temper tantrum in the grocery store. Basically, it acts out inappropriately at the wrong time and wrong place. There is a time and a place for everything and this aspect will also act out and point fingers forgetting that it is acting inappropriately for judging and pointing fingers at others. "AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" you might be mumbling out of your side-mouth or giving the stink-eye when pointed at or called-out by others. You got some nerve!

Mars in Taurus has a very strong desire for money and/or materialism. And this is not just any materialism, it's the Good stuff. Real wood, real leather, hand-made, original designer and ABSOLUTELY NO knock-offs. Knock-offs are just about the biggest 'shopping foul' that you could do in Taurus energy. Oh my gosh it hurts my fingers to type that and my eyes burn just to see the words 'knock off' on screen. MY EYES!

Hey, I have the Moon and Saturn in Capricorn, which is even more materialistic than Taurus (if you can believe that). The word materialism bothers some people, but not me. I would rather save my money and have the best so it lasts a lifetime, rather than make the same purchase once a year. I look at my purse I'm carrying today (on this date) and it is a 37 year-old (vintage) Coach saddle purse in mint condition. For what I paid for it then, over time that bag has only cost me $10 a year. Pretty soon, it will have cost me nothin'.

But see that's the way Taurus and Capricorn energy think. It needs to be the best and when Capricorn is involved, it definitely has to have longevity. It has to stand the test of time. I only want to buy something ONCE, so it needs to be really great or I don't want it. I'll save and wait. When I buy a purse, you better believe it will last 30 years or a Lifetime. I'm like that with seats at a professional game or concert. I want really great seats or I don't want to go. The TV will due just fine in place of nose bleed seats.

Taurus and Capricorn are not 'that' concerned about the designer label, but can be. A designer is typically where 'the best' products come from that will stand the test of time. And again, if you are paying Good money, hard-earned money, Taurus and Capricorn energy will only spend it on the best, not the cheapest. Got it?

If you are not using your Taurus or Capricorn energies in this way, then you are probably wasting a lot of money. I would rather buy a used-well-built-original-anything that stands the test of time than something I have to buy again next year or two (2) years from now. And I do not mind sayin' it either. CAPRICORN .... or ..... TAURUS .... Yeah!

Now let's back-up a bit. Mars is moving into Taurus and this energy is in its detriment. So even though Taurus really likes and enjoys the finer things in Life, this does not mean that you should go and buy anything that you cannot yet afford. Do not use this Mars in Taurus energy to get yourself into debt because you were trying to impress someone or comfort your emotions if it will get you into financial hot water. If it doesn't okay, just be clear and conscious what is going on, otherwise look for the same items on eBay as used. You would be much better off.

Mars in Taurus puts forth a lot of energy toward creating more money, which includes acquiring possessions. The Good news is Taurus energy is practical, so focus only on doing things that will yield Good results. In other words, do not waste your time on something that is not working or that is too risky because Mars is in his detriment. He's not thinking clearly.

It's a Good thing that Mars is slowed down significantly in Taurus because Taurus will NOT move fast unless he is poked with a stick and ends up stampeding. Mars naturally ram-rods and goes fast, but there will be material detours, obstacles and limitations that are typically self-inflicted, that will keep your spending in check.

Do you need to have slower business in order for you to learn how to handle money? Mars wants you to respond quickly but Taurus is a slow methodical moving sign. Mars gets frustrated wanting to go faster and more aggressively for what he wants. Let your practical caution slow you down so you make wise financial decisions. I always thought when business slowed, it gave me time to be creative and get caught up on writing. Think your way through this because Mars wants to go fast, but can't during this transit, and there is a reason for everything. Look at the reason.

As far as emotions go, remember the Moon rules our emotions, feelings, moods and sensitivities. The Moon in Libra (harmony and balance) is squaring the Sun and squaring Pluto. When I see the Moon squaring the Sun, I think of emotional-stunted-growth. It's a tough aspect because it puts the mother (Moon) against the father (the Sun). Saturn and the Sun are both father energies, just like the Moon and Jupiter are mother energies. This makes for difficult parental energy or childhood memories.

The Moon squaring Pluto will likely use emotions as power and/or control. There is manipulation when Pluto is harshly aspected. This is intense emotional dramas, which can easily turn volatile. Damn it!

As a side note, in preparation for tomorrow's Daily Horoscope, it's pretty yucky with emotional (Moon) oppositions and squares as well.
