Folks, you are going to have to just roll the dice and see which brand works best for you. I have THE MOST personal experience with Mountain House when it comes to any type of dehydrated, freeze dried, packaged, powdered and prepared foods. When my grandson Big Tree and I have backpack the A.T. (Appalachian Trail), our packaged brand of choice is 'Mountain House'. We have had tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner experience with this brand. We started on this brand through REI and stuck with it.
My backpack is ALWAYS packed and I carry Mountain House to this day in my backpack. So does my grandson 'Big Tree'. We both carry our packs in our trunk at all times. It's our 'bug out' bag. I will talk about 'bug out' bags on another page and link here when it is complete.
I also have personal experience with Ready Wise, which has some incredible customer service. Keep in mind a lot of these companies have a three (3) week waiting shipping date due to demands. GEEZ, what will Life be like three (3) weeks from now much less the end of the day?
I also have personal experience with Augason Farms, which you can get this brand at Wal-Mart. I have had no issues with Augason Farms. Now folks, keep in mind, I'm an earthy-type-gal, so when I'm hungry, I'm eating. Beggars can't be choosers, and won't be, especially if you are a camper, prepper, backbacker and/or survivalist.
IMPORTANT NOTE - You will see a lot of these companies on Amazon with a slightly cheaper price. I was talking to the guy at Ready Wise one day and told him about the price a little cheaper on Amazon. He said he didn't know who that was. I immediately began questioning any resellers on Amazon and decided I would only make a purchase through the direct company links. I ended up ordering from the Ready Wise guy on the phone. Turns out, their products are pretty darn great too, like 'Mountain House'.
I have no other experience with the others below, you will simply have to order something and try it for yourself. Experience is the best taste tester.
