MERCURY IN VIRGO

Mercury is in Virgo from August 29, 2019 until September 14, 2019. Mercury stands for the intellect, common sense, cold reason, commerce and business. Its qualities are fluidity and versatility. Its position and aspects tell us about our communication and learning habits and our modes of thinking. Here is a nice little piece of Mercury trivia for you. Mercury will never be more than one Sun Sign away from the Sun. This means someone who has their Sun in Virgo, will have their Mercury within 1 Sun Sign on either side of Virgo or it will be in the sign of Virgo. This means there are only three possibilities that a Virgo Sun Sign individual might have their Mercury in -- Mercury in Leo, Mercury in Virgo or Mercury in Libra. This helps you guess someone's Mercury even if you don't know their exact birthdate but you know their Sun Sign. You can pretty much rule out Mercury in the opposite sign (Pisces) or the four signs on each side Pisces (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer) and (Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius).

This is a very discriminating placement for Mercury since it naturally rules Virgo (also Gemini). This means the mind is critical and analytical, where it can cause you to become obsessed with detailed knowledge. Some of us have the strangest talents, skills, desires and hobbies, but we need to remember that these are specialized gifts that we have been given. Everyone has a speciality. When God was passing out gifts, He didn't single you out and say, "You don't get a gift!" Oh no, everyone has a gift and you have a specialty too. In fact, we all have many specialties and you should be looking to channel Mercury in Virgo, and Mercury trine Uranus into your 'speciality'.

Mercury trine Saturn is a great aspect for when you need to be good with your hands. This aspect makes one very good with their hands and will often engage in professions where dexterity is important because Mercury rules the hands. This could be anyone such as a surgeon, craftsman, mechanic, writer or engineer. So you see, this is a wonderful aspect to have present when you have surgery or the aspect you want your doctor to have. It is also a great aspect for those with organizational and managerial abilities.

This Mercury in Virgo will provide practicality, logic, quickness, precision and will have fine minute attention to detail as well as Good ol' fashion common sense. Even though Mercury rules Virgo and is strongly placed in this sign of discrimination, remember that some people are governed by emotions, prejudice and self-interest, and not by logic. In these cases, refrain from getting stuck on the small stuff or criticism. While this placement tends to be honest and is great for speaking engagements, it can be intolerant of minds that are not as quick.

This is the placement of the mental scavenger that picks apart word by word, phrase by phrase, until nothing gets communicated. This can sound like the person who says, "You said . . " and will not let the conversation go any further because they were hung up on, "You said . . ."

Mercury in Virgo is concerned with grammar, spelling, punctuation, writing or anything that has to do with specialized communication skills. Even where science, accounting or research are concerned, calling in 'the experts' will be normal under this placement. Courtrooms are going to be obsessed with detail and specifics. Politics is going to be obsessed with the experts and specifics. Mercury in Virgo needs to be right simply because if they are wrong, someone could get injured, or worse, someone could die or go to jail. This is because Virgo rules science, healthcare and engineering, which are jobs that involve precision and accuracy. All the same, too much attention to detail could also cause one to lose sight of the main goal.
