The BIG NEWS today is the Moon in Leo, which is the PRO-tector of families, the PRO-tector of Life, the preserver of the PRIDE. The whole time you read this, consider the placement of the Leo energy in your Natal Chart or Solar Return. All too often Leo energy is mis-channelled, which will cause you to miss out. 'The pride' of the Leo IS NOT and SHOULD NOT be their ego. Wrong!

'I believe' the Leo energy to be so important that it is worth taking the time to study and apply in your own Life. It should not be lost on you that this energy has landed on Mother's Day Weekend during a time when the country is flipping out over Roe v. Wade. It doesn't surprise me a bit. The world has become so selfish that children are not even invited to weddings 'hardly' anymore, which is INSANE because weddings are the beginning of the family unit.

Side note - I know of a couple where the groom absolutely did not want children at the wedding. It was a battle. Now the couple has three (3) kids and he is the most useless father who would not even change a diaper or hold a child if they were crying. He is successful financially in providing for his family, but does not participate in the nurturing and the closer bond of raising the children. I remember saying his strong stance about children was showing the bride her future husband, but she was too caught up in a wedding.

The Leo pride is the lion's family unit consisting of 2 to 40 lions. It is their branch of the family tree. How cool is that, for the Leo Moon to land on Mother's Day Weekend? This is the time to look at your family unit and assess or reassess. What are you doing? What aren't you doing? What can you do better to connect your unit?

According to National Geographic, the lion's pride includes up to to three (3) or four (4) males, a dozen or so females, and their young. All of a pride's lionesses are related, and female cubs typically stay with the group as they age. It's like the first cousins are hanging out with each other. In Native culture we call first cousins brother and sister cousins because they are children of siblings. I find the family unit of lions so remarkable that I feel it is worth making a sizeable remark about it.

By the way, I Love the word 'remarkable' and rarely use it because the word is so 'REMARKABLE'. The word 'amazing' drives me bonkers because it is over-used on things that really are 'not' all that amazing. I'm almost bitchy about the word "AMAZING!" (Winky wink)

If you have strong Leo in your chart, enjoy the feel of my footprint on your ass, pushing you to investigate more of this strength within your chart and to use it wisely. The best way to learn about lions is to watch some videos on them when they are NOT in captivity (zoo). Instead of chasing articles all over the internet reading about astrology and Leo's, watch some videos of lions in their own environment and then channel that energy into the area of your chart. Or watch cat behavior with your own miniature feline family members (furry or human).

Lions are highly territorial and will occupy the same territory for generations. How many generations, I don't know, but it's plural. Female know females, right? We know how we are! Females will actively defend their territories against other females, and males protect their prides from rival prides. It's gangsta!

The size of their territory they are PRO-tecting depends on the abundance of prey they need to survive, including access to water and denning sites. The den is where they feed.

Have you noticed in the political arena the Lion is the backdrop or background? Some of you know what I am referring to. For the rest of you, do your research.

Notice from the list of aspects today that the first aspect involves Uranus, which is a change-in energy. Prepare for the energy to turn or change quickly - that would be Good, bad or indifferent in your own pride (family unit). Warning - do not let your human pride get in the way of what is Good and right.

The Moon will then quincunx Mars, creating a bit of angst or tension where it just does not need to be. Quincunx energy has nothing in common with the other energy is involved. Accept that and just walk away.

The lastly, the Moon will square the Sun creating tension between mother (Moon) and father (Sun) energies. This may simply be between female and male energies. IT'S A CAT FIGHT . . unless you choose to embrace Lion behavior and not pounce on things that are beneathe you. Ya' get me?

This is the perfect time when you can enact some of your Cancer energy and take all of those arms and legs and just reach out and give the emotional energy a great big hug. In this way you can squeeze the cry or angst out of someone, which helps, or you can help contain the energy so it does not go into crazy-hyper-emotional-moody mode. BIG HUGS allow the other person to be emotional, without you having to fix it. Literally - hug it out! Use your Cancer energy (that we just experienced over the past couple of days) to hug it out of yourself, or hug it out of someone else, or hug it out of each other, and say NOTHING! Words are not necessary when you have hugs.
