The BIG NEWS today is Jupiter in Scorpio turns Retrograde at 11:45 PM EST this evening until July 10, 2018 for four (4) full months. That is one (1) month less than what is typical for Jupiter. Please DO NOT wig-out over Jupiter Retrograde because even Jupiter Retrograde cannot help but be kind, generous and fortunate. Still, remember retrogrades ARE A DO-OVER and give us three (3) chances to get something right before we progress forward. Re-do 'it' and do 'it' better the 2nd and 3rd time over the same degrees. It's a 'get to'. You 'get to' do it better! Jupiter in Scorpio Transiting Degree Calendar
This Retrograde will take us back over the same degrees we just completed to give us a second chance. When Jupiter turns Direct on July 10, 2018 it will move forward and go over those same degrees again for the third time, thereby giving us three (3) full chances to get something right before we progress forward. So be not afraid my dear little mentators, Jupiter cannot seem to help himself from being so kind and generous even when he is going backward in degrees. Many late winter birth dates and all of Spring birth dates have Jupiter Retrograde in their natal charts because that is when Jupiter is Retrograde. So this is not a shocker or big deal because this Retrograde happens around the same time every year. Jupiter is typically Retrograde about 120 to 150 days, that's 4 to 5 months. In this case, it's a 4 monther.
Jupiter is retrograde for approximately 120 days and is stationary about 5 days before and 5 days after retrogradation.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to realize that retrograde motion is an illusion but the illusion is strong enough to influence our perspective. Check out the Jupiter in Scorpio Transiting Degree Calendar so you can watch the Retrogrde degrees in action.
When Jupiter goes retrograde, our perspective and perceptions change, which makes this a perfect time to go deep within ourselves for understanding, introspection and enlightenment. It may seem as though the energy stops or slows down significantly in the house that Jupiter in Scorpio is moving through in your Natal Chart. The best way to handle this energy is to go within and seek self-improvement. If Jupiter means 'outer' on a global level, then retrograde motion would cause you to go 'inner' or 'inward' to seek answers. It's very cool when you think about it. What a great time to pursue and understand yourself. After all, Jupiter does rule the higher-thinking mind, philosophy and religion.
This slowdown is commonly referred to in astrology as driving with the parking brake on. It's not like you can't move forward, it just feels strange, might smell a little bad but nonetheless, you are still moving forward until you stop driving with the parking brake on. Since the parking brake is set by the Universe, then you might have to take a different route. For example (as an analogy) you might have to possibly walk but you are still able to move forward on your own and under your own power. How fast you walk is entirely up to you. Not to mention, walking (or going inward) is still serving Jupiter's intended purpose. You just have to slow down and get creative with how you will proceed forward. The speed at which you move might be slower but the slowness is for a reason. If business runs slower, then that is the perfect time to get creative, clean up your act, file necessary paperwork, etc.
This is a wonderful time to improve yourself so that you can be prepared to handle bigger, better and more when Jupiter returns to its normal state. Too much of a Good thing can actually cause problems. Just like the person who wins the lottery and does not take the time to gain a clear sense of self-perspective. Once they receive the money, they spend it haphazardly and end up worse off than they were when they won the money. The winner who embraces the internal reflection and seeks answers as to what to do with the money will ultimately prove to be a success. This is like the fable of the tortoise and the hare. The period of slowness that the self-reflecting winner voluntarily embraces rather than appearing on the news to reveal their winnings to the world will make all the difference in their future dealings.
Refrain from choosing fear when a planet goes into retrograde motion. The retrograde motion is an illusion where you naturally respond through perspective in order to upgrade your character with the house involved in your Natal Chart.
Those who have Jupiter Retrograde in their natal chart are already used to this retrograde energy because they live with it every single day. This is nothing new to Jupiter Retrograders, just like Mercury Retrograde is familiar energy to those with Mercury Retrograde in their natal charts. It's those who do not have these planets Retrograde that may find it a challenge. Still, Jupiter is pretty darn generous and kind even when it is Retrograde. This is why natal charts with Jupiter Retrograde typically do not see their abundance until later in Life. It's just the way it goes. Oh, and one more thing - lucky for us that the day Jupiter turns Retrograde is on the day that Jupiter rules, which is a Thursday. Jupiter also rules the sign of Sagittarius and today the Moon is in Sagittarius. I'll take that as two (2) signs that Jupiter Retrograde will be kinder than you might give it credit.
