What is a Natal Chart?
The Moon tells us about our emotional nature and basic needs. It is also the key to how we experience intimacy in relationships. The Moon tells us about our mother, as she is our first intimate relationship. The moon describes our experience with nurturing and the type of nurturing that we expect now. It may also show dietary habits and preferences with food.
The Moon glyph is represented by a crescent indicating the moods, feelings, sensitivities and emotions of the personality.
MOON IN SAGITTARIUS
"I PERCEIVE, THEREFORE I AM."
MOON KEYWORDS: Personality, emotions, feelings, moods, sensitivity, instincts, memory, habits, imagination, instinctual behavior, mother, nurturing and intuition
SAGITTARIUS KEYWORDS: Higher-self, philosophy, jovial, foreign lands, foreign people, foreign cultures, the global community, religion, philanthropy, higher-education, gypsy traveler, lucky, abundance, expansive, the higher-thinking mind, dreams, visions, intuition, legalities and higher law
You have an emotional need for adventure and independence, and an instinctual urge for travel and exploring. Under stress you will want to go on an adventure. Your mother may be seen as fun-loving and independent.
Those with their Moon in Sagittarius have some fairly notable characteristics, although the first thing that comes to my mind is; now here is a person with an idealistic nature. Meaning, more than likely you have lofty, idealistic emotional thoughts and opinions. Goals are very high although there may be a lack of realism. Typically there are strong attachments to philosophic, spiritual and religious beliefs because this also has to do with the higher-thinking mind. These idealistic beliefs and attitudes were probably instilled during childhood from one or both parents.
The traveling gypsy is often the case here. You are probably fond of travel and move quickly along your path (whichever path you are taking today). This placement creates opportunity for travel to foreign lands where you may actually take up residence, or you may have travel to places that are far away from your birthplace.
This placement also makes for a kind, jovial and cheery individual that others simply want to be around. A smile is the usual "resting face" with this moon sign.
If the Moon in Sagittarius is afflicted by an aspect such as; a square, opposition, quincunx, sesquisquare or semisquare, instead of opening the mind, this placement will close the mind and create a narrow-minded, sectarian viewpoint. This can lead to arrogance and egotism with a holier-than-thou attitude. Those with this placement may unconsciously identify with social values that are emotionally motivated rather than having a conscious and objective attitude.
