The BIG NEWS today is Mercury in Gemini sextile Mars in Leo at exactly 6:10 PM EDT, which is the mark of the quick learner or the quick study. While one could argue that the transit of Mercury in Aries is the mark of 'the quick study', which is the typical astrological interpretation. But I don't typical interpret since I'm a studious type of gal.

I will argue that Mercury in Aries is the mark of the 'rash thinker'. Rash thinking leaves room for mistakes, while Mercury sextile Mars will put in the time to learn. Thinking quick on your feet is one thing, learning and studying is something different.

Mercury says, "I think therefore I am". Mercury is in its home placement of Gemini (the brainiac, the intellectual). The difference is Mercury in Aries 'thinks fast' without considering the consequences, while Mercury sextile Mars actually studies and learns.

The best part of this aspect is that it is capable of making a decision. Not everyone at anytime can make a decision. Pulling the pin and making a decision comes hard for some people. The Moon trine the Sun is also present, which is THE BEST lunar aspect.

Mercury sextile Mars says what it means and means what it says. This aspect is a great calculater, planner, stategizer and organizer. If you need to make plans that will actually stick, this is the aspect you want. This aspect thinks things through, which is different than 'the rash thinker'. Acting on first thought is not studious. It just isn't.

This aspect gets the job done and does it well because mental preparation is the foundation. Again, something the rash thinker does not do. This aspect calculates, strategizes and plans. It is also great for speaking, writing and getting the point across. Study is different than just thinking about something and thinking about it quickly. This aspect learns, masters and applies.

Keep in mind, Mercury rules both Gemini (the communicator) and Virgo (the analyzer), so get ready to have your posts, comments and words scrutinized and criticized. Do your fact checking first because you will be fact-checked.

I don't believe a lot of ANYTHING, especially 'the oversell'. Overselling something in presentation, speech, bragging, make-up, etc., will automatically get me wondering, What are you hiding? or Why are you trying to sell me?

What I'm saying is, the combination of Mercury and Mars will get people studying what you said or how you present yourself and quite possibly get them asking questions that you didn't want asked. PEOPLE ARE STUDYING WHAT THEY SEE AND HEAR RIGHT NOW. Got it? Including studying you. So if you want to make a BIG DEAL about you, go for it.

This is also an aggressive aspect that will take charge and make plans for you and everyone else. If you don't speak up, then plan on someone else making plans for you. This aspect will also separate the leaders from the followers because Mars in Leo is involved.

Mercury sextile Mars is also a game player in Life and really enjoys deep complicated puzzles, which is something they can study and get more involved in. Any games that require skill and mental agility, such as chess will fall under this aspect. As many of you know, there is a major 5D Chess game occurring with PRESIDENT Trump, if you can keep up. I won't elaborate for those who won't study. Do your own homework!

Math skills are also present. This is the mark of the statistician, technician and mathematician. It's the left brain at work with this aspect.

Mercury sexile Mars gets the job done and does it well because mental preparation is the foundation.
