Leo needs their mane stroked and needs to know that they are Loved and adored, until of course they have had enough of you, which of course you will know by the resounding hiss and show of teeth. "ENOUGH ALREADY! LOVE AND ADORE ME FROM OTHER THERE!"

Leo is naturally ruled by the Sun, so it's important to remember that the Sun rules our ego and identity. The Sun shows up in our charts by the symbol that looks like a target. It's a circle with a dot in the center, which looks like a big gathering of 'whatever' surrounding around and adoring the individual who is the 'dot' in the center.

Leo's have enough sense to know that they do have a big ego and for those Leo's who cannot yet own their own ego, they will probably have a harder time in Life because they have yet to embrace the natural experience and knowledge to know the Truth when they see it, especially when they look in the mirror.

I was at the gas station yesterday getting ice and was standing behind this young man, probably in his early to mid-20's who looked a bit rough and tough. A detailed description is not necessary and I say this without judgment, but when the clerk asked for his birthday (and since I read birth dates) I thought, "Oh he's an alley cat or a feral cat." I will readily admit, when I am in the presence of a Leo, my energy shifts because I have such great respect for Leo's, except the obvious politicians who are Leo's who I will not even type out their name in lower case letters . . . 'cause F them!

As an astrologer, I do expect a lot from Leo's because Leo's are here for us, not us for them. In fact, I'm also probably harder on my Leo clients more than any other sign. The problem is when Leo expects others to serve them without leading. Great leaders earn respect. Horrible leaders expect respect. Leo leads by example, not by demanding followers.

Anyway, this guy was no doubt a Leo because he said August --, 1995. My brain went into immediate calculation because after all, I read birth dates. It just happens. I don't need the chart to read the birth date, I use it for you. I use the chart to teach you about your birth date so that you attach to your chart, not me. Teach you to read your birth date empowers you, not me. That's why when I do a reading for you it 'has to be done' with the chart so that you will attach to what it knows, not to what I know. The best astrologers will always empower you, not themselves.

I have Mars in Leo, which requires me to be keenly aware of how I lead others because others will follow my lead. It's called, "copy cats". What I do, others will do, which means I have to be mindful of what I put out into the world.

I always remember this graphic between a boss and a leader. I know of a businesswoman who in the beginning of her new business was constantly posting about her being a 'boss' and 'boss lady'. I thought, "Oh my! She is going to get her ass humbled and handed to her if she keeps that up." And she did get humbled. Now she's busting her ass working harder than she ever had to. This is not to say she is a Leo, it's just mean to Leo energy on any level, you cannot abuse it.

Leo energy is the sign of the leader . . not the boss. Capricorn is the boss, Leo is the leader. Leaders lead by example, not by telling others what to do by bossing them around. No one wants to play follow-the-leader on the playground with the person who yells out, "We are going to play follow-the-leader. EVERYONE GET BEHIND ME!" Now if someone on the playground happily and excitedly yells out, "Hey let's play follow-the-leader!" Then everyone around will say, "Okay!" and then line up behind that happy and excited person. See the difference? Leo CANNOT yell out orders! Think of what happens when cats start hissing and showing their teeth. People back away. And they will do that on the playground of Life as well.

So here we are as Venus moves into Leo, a sign which really demands a lot of personal attention.
