The BIG NEWS today could actually be just that, which is there could be BIG NEWS, as Mercury in Capricorn (serious, business) quincunxes Jupiter Rx in Gemini (the messenger, news, the mind). This aspect s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s the Truth and exaggerates it making it no longer the Truth. Mercury and Jupiter are natural opposing and squaring signs because Mercury (Gemini) naturally opposes Jupiter (Sagittarius), and Mercury (Virgo) naturally squares Jupiter (Sagittarius.)

Mercury quincunx Jupiter sees things bigger than they are, so when information is presented, it can blow the information out-of-proportion making it what it was not.

Mercury rules the news, media, messenger, basic learning, education grades K-12, the mind and mental abilities.

Jupiter rules the higher thinking mind, politics, global news, culture, philosophy, ethics, and Jupiter E-X-P-A-N-D-S whatever it touches. Jupiter exaggerates, inflates and overstates what is, including the obvious.

So something that was said, or that was/is in the news, it's being blown completely out of proportion to what was actually said. The 'Mockingbird Media' will likely be at it again, pulling out old news clips without the complete story. It's as easy as cropping a person out of the picture. The people get sold and told what they are supposed to know, nothing more. A 10 or 15 second clip gets aired and know the people think they know the WHOLE STORY and they don't need to hear or see anymore.

Mercury KNOWS full well that a certain subset of people will not look into what was said or reported, but they will repeat over-and-over again what they heard from that few minute clip. In fact, they can count on people not looking into it because that's how people are. The average person is probably a C student.

Another way to see this aspect is the student goes to class, the teacher teaches the class for 40-45 minutes. Then the teacher assigns a chapter of reading. There is a review, then there is a test. The student whines and dramatizes that the teacher didn't cover 'that' in class. Nevermind the teacher assigned a chapter to read where 'that' information would have been discovered. Face it, some people just don't want to do the work.

This is what separates the A and B students, from the C and D students. The A and B students know more because they took it upon themselves to read, research, study and found out more stuff. The C and D students are the ones who are spoonfed bite/byte size pieces and that is all they will know and all they will learn. That's it! No more. Another way to see this is anything planted in the mind, grows in the mind. For the attention seekers or needy individuals, this will look like drama, as you whisper to yourself, "Good grief, I can't say anything." This aspect can and will insinuate, imply, or suggest on purpose just enough to make someone feel uncomfortable, self-conscious or afraid.

Maybe the 'Mockingbird Media' has planted enough news clips in your brain that your entire position rests on 10 second repeat clips because you refuse to hear the whole story. You know, because you're tough, and you heard what you heard, and you don't need to hear anymore, so there!

Nevermind taking that posture means you didn't think on your own, you were told what to think, and you agreed without doing any research, study, clicking or asking. You were told, you believed and that's it. End of discussion. That means 'they' are right (not you) because you didn't have to think, process or figure out anything. You were told what to think. Such a Good little soldier. Again, anything that gets planted in the mind, will grow in the mind, off whatever was planted in the mind. Ooooh that's so tricky.

Mercury quincunx Jupiter processes and sees things bigger than they actually are, so when information is presented, it can blow the information out-of-proportion or make it what it was not. You may be saying or hearing, "That's not what I said, that's what you heard!"

Check yourself first to make certain you are not the one blowing things out of proportion and taking things in a way that was not meant for you 'at all', not even a little bit, lest you find yourself on the receiving end of, "Good grief, I can't say anything."

Controversy or stressful situations can make people act and react in ways that the information or communication (Mercury) was not intended. And what if you took a moment to look into things, you would probably have fewer issues.

By the way, Mercury not only rules Gemini and the nervous system, but Mercury also rules the analytical, critical and detailed sign of Virgo. So there's that in this aspect too. Criticism 'can be' incredibly HIGH during this aspect because remember, it's BIGGER in your own mind. A pointer, advice or tip morphs into criticism. "Good grief, I can't say anything."

Mercury quincunx Jupiter can take attempted helpful constructive criticism as fault-finding, carping or needling. Find a soft way to communicate with those you Love so that this aspect comes across in a non-inflammatory manner.
