1ST HOT YOGA CLASS OF THE DAY - 6:00 PM CDT - GETTIN' MY GROOVEY BACK
After being away from hot yoga for 3 full days (Sat. Sun. Mon.) I feel like a new woman. It is truly unbelievable how cruddy my body felt all day. It is also amazing just how much the body requires movement. Everytime I arose from my chair today I felt like I had aged 20 years. My knees were stiff, my feet were super stiff and my back needed stretching. That right there is why I need to go to hot yoga 'at least' twice a day. Since my office is in my home, I don't get the added benefit of walking to a car, walking around a company building, down hallways at work or walking to copy machines. Everything I needed is in this one room, so if I don't get up and move every couple of hours, then I'm stiff all over again. One hour of yoga won't give me the added movements that everyone else gets from working outside of the home, including just walking to the car or up and down hallways at work.
I'm extra stiff for others reasons today. This past Saturday as we were packing the SUV to leave for the weekend to go watch the eclipse with the Scorpion King's aunt and uncle (both Leo's) I fell down the stairs going from the utility room to the garage. I had too much in my arms, which caught the door and then down I went. It's only a couple of stairs, but it was still a long way down onto a concrete floor. Standing on a flat surface is a long way to fall much less adding three stairs to the mix. I laid there twisted among the things I was carrying and waited for the Scorpion King to come out into the garage and find me.
When I experience pain, I just go zen, relax and breathe. Drama during pain is not my style. So I just laid there and waited for him. Thank God I was fine because I really thought that I might have broken my arm. My low back is still a bit achy, my left knee is still swollen and sore, and my right foot (of course my dang foot being a South Node Pisces) is still achy as well. Sleeping in a strange bed didn't help matters either, so I was pretty sore today sitting and working all day until I finally went to my first yoga class at 6:00 PM. Rolling over my feet from upward dog into downward dog I could feel the tightness in my right foot from the fall. My knee and low back I had forgotten were sore and I'm supposing the 105 degree heat helped immensely. The interesting thing is that little toe that was broken 6 or 7 weeks ago is now healed and I noticed that the zinging and electric pain from that Morton's Neuroma in my right foot is also gone . . but now I'm experience the tightness in the top of my right foot from the fall. If it isn't one thing it's another, but no matter what, I will still go to yoga. That's a given. If I have to just go and lay on my mat, then that's what it will be.
2ND HOT YOGA CLASS OF THE DAY - 8:00 PM CDT - MY TRIBE IS MY VIBE
Since I am committed to two classes a day and I missed a morning class, I just stayed for the last class of the day, which was the hottest class at 105 - 107 degrees. I was so relieved to be back in the groove. The other thing is I was so happy to be back in the saddle with all of the other yogi's who I have come to know from hitting so many classes. The yoga studio really feels like home. Since I am a South Node Pisces it would be easy for me to sit back and live a Life of contemplation and reflection without talking to a soul, so when I'm at yoga I do make it a point to participate in Life and purposely communicate with other people. I could probably walk in and walk out without speaking to anyone, but because I am a North Node Virgo, I have to participate and be present in Life and engage in routine with others. So I have to say, it was really nice to get back among my yogi tribe who I now feel comfortable being around. It wasn't always that way. I trust my North Node Virgo knows best, so I work it and make it work for me.
