My father was native american but has passed and I know I was given a strong sign but can not / do not know where to go to ask about it. I was traveling and passed four fields that each had around 30 or more hawks but this is all I counted of the Hawks on the ground. Hawks do not group like this, so I know I need to be doing something, can anyone help me find the meaning?

Take note that all birds of flight are messengers.
Hawk is "THE" messenger bird. Hawk Medicine is teaching you to be more observant. This is not just being more observant about others around you, it is more about being more observant of yourself. This is about observing your own actions and reactions.
Hawk Medicine is asking you to be more aware of yourself and the world around you. I'll bet that you have been given a talent or gift that you not fully aware.
If these Hawks were "talking" amongst themselves (calling) . . they were trying to get your attention alright.
They may have been asking, "Why does it take 30 of us to get your attention when only one will do?"
Pull back your microscope and look at the big picture.
Hawk Medicine brings messages to you and then back to the Sun (Spirit, God, Father). Interesting, how you connected this to your father.
I doubt this is "about" your father, as much as it is probably a message from your father to you . . . "about you."
He may be nudging you to pay attention to your Life and saying "YOU GO GIRL!"
