WHAT ARE BACH FLOWER REMEDIES?

All 38 Bach Flower Remedies

THERE ARE 7 BACH FLOWER EMOTIONAL GROUPS

1) Fear
2) Uncertainty
3) Insufficient interest in present circumstances
4) Loneliness
5) Over-sensitivity to influences and ideas
6) Despondency or Despair
7) Over-care for welfare of others

BACH FLOWER REMEDIES ARE . . . dilutions of flower material that was researched and created by Dr. Edward Bach, who was an English homeopath and physician in the 1930's. Bach Flower Remedies are used for behaviorial, emotional and spiritual conditions that replace negative emotions with positive emotions.

Bach Flower Remedies contain a very small amount of flower material in a 50:50 solution of water and brandy. Interestingly enough, since the remedies are extremely diluted they do not have the scent or taste of the plant. Bach Flower Remedies are said to have the energetic nature of a specific flower, which in turn is transferred to the person who is taking the remedy. There are 38 Bach Flower Remedies (below) that are separated into the 7 emotional groups (above).

Pattern of Imbalance - For those who wear a mask of cheerfulness to hide the emotional pain.

In Dr. Edward Bach's words . . . "The jovial, cheerful, humorous people who love peace and are distressed by argument or quarrel, to avoid which they will agree to give up much. Though generally they have troubles and are tormented and restless and worried in mind or in body, they hide their cares behind their humor and jesting and are considered very good friends to know. They often take alcohol or drugs in excess, to stimulate them and help themselves bear their trials with cheerfulness."

ASPEN [Populus tremula]

Pattern of Imbalance - For those who have unknown, irrational or unreasonable fear that can paralyze the individual.

Aspen works great for animals that are timid or easily spooked.

In Dr. Edward Bach's words . . . "Vague unknown fears, for which there can be given no explanation, no reason. It is a terror that something awful is going to happen even though it is unclear what exactly. These vague inexplicable fears may haunt by night or day. Sufferers may often be afraid to tell their trouble to others."

[ back to top ] BEECH [Fagus sylvatica]

Pattern of Imbalance - For those who are judgmental and have a desire to change others. The individual is critical, perfectionistic and intolerant.

And, although much appears to be wrong, to have the ability to see the good growing within. So as to be able to be more tolerant, lenient and understanding of the different way each individual and all things are working to their own perfection."

CENTAURY [Centaurium umbellatum]

Pattern of Imbalance - This is a classic case of turning oneself into a 'doormat'. May become a slave in their own servitude and desire to please others that they put themselves on the back burner.

In Dr. Edward Bach's words . . . "Kind, quiet, gentle people who are over-anxious to serve others. They overtax their strength in their endeavors. Their wish so grows upon them that they become more servants than willing helpers. Their good nature leads them to do more than their own share of work, and in so doing they may neglect their own particular mission in life."

[ back to top ] CERATO [Ceratostigma willmottiana]

Pattern of Imbalance - Lack of trust in oneself so much that the individual seeks the wrong advice from others. This is self-doubt with a need to get validation from others than from oneself.

Whereas one experience would be enough for some, such people find it necessary to have more, sometimes several, before the lesson is learnt. Often it is something of apparently little importance: in others there may be more serious disease which is almost disregarded compared to the one thing on which they concentrate. In both types they are anxious to be free from the one particular thing which is greatest in their minds and which seems so essential to them that it should be cured.
