Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

Cracked heels are really nothing more than oversight or a lack of proper foot care. There are many home treatments for cracked heals, the easiest one being the use of a hydrogenated oil or petroleum jelly on the feet. Put the oil or jelly on clean dry feet, then put on socks and wear them overnight. Doing this over the course of 3 or 4 days, your feet should have gotten progressively better.

I'm super-dooper conscious of using excess energy. It's not a cheap-thing, it's a right-thing. In warm weather I hang clothes outside on a clothes line to dry. In cold weather I hang clothes on hangers on the shower rod to dry. I use the dryer for towels (in the winter) and that's pretty much it. Even socks I will hang over the shower rod. If you use a laundromat, save yourself the money and just bring your wet clothes home to hang on the shower rod.

It doesn't matter where you worked or where you work now, there is information and skill to be gained. When I first went into practice, I joined another doctor's practice and learned how not to run a practice. Learning from someone else's mistakes was an invaluable experience that I would not have gotten anywhere else, except myself. You just can't make some of that stuff up but you can sure as heck learn from it.

We don't eat a lot of boxed, packaged, canned, refined, baked or packaged food, but we do eat protein bars and fiber bars. I fill up a huge glass cookie jar with the protein and fiber bars. It not only looks healthy sitting there, it is a constant reminder to eat healthy.
