Father, today's scripture serves as a stark reminder that it is my Faith that heals and saves me. If I am entertaining worry, doubt, fear or anxiety then clearly my Faith doesn't hold water and my level of Faith is leaky. There is a reason why Jesus always said, "You're Faith has saved you" . . or . "Your Faith has healed you." I also now understand why Jesus would always tell those He healed not to tell anyone because He was completely uninterested in gaining a following for Himself. He was more interested in sharing what You can do for others and giving You glory. Jesus was always moved with pity to help others. He saw that there was a lot of work to do and the laborers were few. He was more concerned with gaining more laborers for You than tooting His own horn. Father, help me to always maintain a clear focus so that my level of Faith is absolutely impermeable but yet it is also semi-permeable so that it can easily flow through osmosis to others.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 4:38-44
38 After He left the synagogue, He entered the house of Simon. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever, and they interceded with Him about her.
39 He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and waited on them.
40 At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to Him. He laid His hands on each of them and cured them.
41 And demons also came out from many, shouting, "You are the Son of God." But He rebuked them and did not allow them to speak because they knew that He was the Messiah.
42 At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place. The crowds went looking for Him, and when they came to Him, they tried to prevent Him from leaving them.
43 But He said to them, "To the other towns also I must proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent."
44 And He was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.
