Father, today's reading below is very simple as it shows that Jesus had a close circle of friends who supported Him in His efforts. They all played a role, including several women who had the caretaking and financial resources to provide for what He and the group needed. As a result, His closest followers were able to hear His messages over and over and over again thereby having a profound and positive effect on them. This causes me to look at my own Life to see who it is that I support and follow so closely and think about what is their effect on me. Now I'm wondering who is my posse, who is the company I keep and do I like myself in that crowd? What kind of support am I giving to others and what am I getting in return?
Father, You have a Divine Purpose for everything and Your Word will not return to You void. I know that You purposed me for a reason. I know that I have been created for Your purpose, not my own. So instead of going crazy and just doing as I please, I need to calm my spirit and be clear with myself that I am making Good people choices. Even though I trust that You have my Life under Your Divine Direction and Control, I also recognize that You have given me free will to choose who I follow. The disciples below chose to follow Jesus first and then everything and everyone else followed them. The disciples followed Jesus and Jesus followed You. This is how it should be in my own Life. Before I choose to follow the crowd, I need to make certain I am aware of who they follow because ultimately this will be revealed in my own Life.
I ask You to speak the Word and bless me with Your Divine Grace so that I will know exactly who, what, when, where and how I am to support something or someone who is doing Your work.
