Father, today's reading is a sharp reminder that there is a principle design sewn into the fabric of the Universe that You created, and that is, fruit produced comes from the seed planted. While it would be easier to look at the consistency of fruit produced by others, I also need to be aware of the fruit that I produce in my own Life. What is the impact of my character? What is the consistency of the fruit I produce? Am I consistent? Jesus gave us a simple test to check a person's character. He said, "Check their fruit." What do they produce? Insects and bagworms typically do not infest and infiltrate a well-tended and manicured environment. At all times I must cultivate, plant, water, grow and produce Good fruit through myself, especially if I expect others to do the same. At the same time, I need to be aware of those who pretend to produce Good fruit but have no track record. My spiritual DNA comes from You, so by Divine Inheritance I have inherited Your Good traits. I know that my Good character is something that I have to nurture, shape and produce through my own attentiveness and initiative. Thank You for such an awesome awareness today.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 6:43-49
43 "A Good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear Good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
45 A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.
46 Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I command?
47 I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them.
48 That one is like a person building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when the flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it because it had been well built.
49 But the one who listens and does not act is like a person who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against it, it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed."
