Father, today's reading is fabulous and I LOVE IT. This reading brings to my mind that Your I AM presence is within all of us, which is why it is so important never to put a negative word or phrase behind the words I AM. Before Moses descended Mt. Sinai to tell the Israelites what he had witnessed at The Burning Bush, he had a question he needed answered from You. Moses knew the Israelites would ask him the name of the One who had sent him.
Moses asked You, "When I come to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; then they will say to me, 'What is His name?' What should I say to them?"
You said to Moses in reply, "I AM THAT I AM. Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you." [Exodus 3:13-14]
You literally told Moses what Your name is. It is I AM! This was not a figurative statement. You literally said Your Name is I AM. Therefore, since Your Name is I AM and I am Your child and Your heir, which is the root of my Spiritual DNA, then I should never ever use Your Name in vain by putting a negative word or phrase behind those two words. In vain being being my own vanity and make I AM about myself. There is nothing more profoundly false or inappropriate than using Your "I AM" presence with anything less than a Loving and positive follow-up announcement. When I greet someone and tell them who I am, my introduction typically begins with "I am." From this moment forward, I will always remember who I am when I use those two words. Thank you for this wonderful reminder of who I am. I am part of You!
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 8:51-59
51 "Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps My Word will never see death."
52 (So) the Jews said to Him, "Now we are sure that you are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, 'Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.'
53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? Or the prophets, who died? Who do you make yourself out to be?"
54 Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, 'He is our God.'
55 You do not know Him, but I know Him. And if I should say that I do not know Him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know Him and I keep His Word.
56 Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; He saw it and was glad."
57 So the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?"
58 Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM."
59 So they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.
