Father, there are times when I treat strangers with less attention and respect than I should. I know how judgmental I can be and I also know how unattractive I can be when I behave in this way. Yet, I don't know why I do this and I offer no excuse. As I think about this lack of compassion and respect toward strangers and those who assist me in my everyday Life, it has made me think more about how I treat those who are closest to me and those that I Love, including my friends and family. Father, help me to become the Loving, kind and compassionate person that you made me to be and help me to see Your "I AM" presence in every person who I come in contact with. Please help me to be a more compassionate, tolerant and merciful. I do realize what I have 'not' done to the least of your brothers and sisters, I have also done to You. Help me be more attentive toward humanity and to move through my Life with grace and humility.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matthew 9:32-38
32 As they were going away, behold, a dumb demoniac was brought to Him.
33 And when the demon had been cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the crowds marveled, saying, "Never was anything like this seen in Israel."
34 But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons by the prince of demons."
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every infirmity.
36 When He saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
38 pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
