How do I rub off on others?

"If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished?"~Rumi

I rub others the right way.

For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's scripture is a wonderful example of how we rub off on others. Jesus never distanced Himself from anyone, including the judgmental folk, the criminals, the poor, the rich, the guilty, the sick, the egotistical, the ornery, etc. While the scribes and Pharisees were busy standing in their self-righteous attitude having nothing to do with the 'bad people', Jesus chose to get up close and personal with them. Jesus didn't fear they would rub off on Him, His approach was that He would rub off on them. Jesus never walked around anyone, instead He walked right up to them. No matter who they were, He spoke to them. He knew where the rub was and He stood in it, with it and with them. The distance between Jesus and the other person was as close as a rub.
From childhood we are taught to stay away from the 'bad people' because they might rub off on us. We might be tempted and might not be strong enough to handle their power of influence. But what if now as an adult, now that I have self-control and willpower, what if I choose to stand in who I am and rub off on them, the bad people. What if I didn't back away or back down and stood there and chose to positively impact them? What if the rub was not on me from them, but on them from me? What if I simply choose to do my Good work that You purposed me to do and kept doing it every single day and became unaffected by the critics, the jealous, the insecure and the unsupportive? What if I simply chose to be me, supported by You? If I am accepted, then I accept that, if there is rejection, then I accept that as well, but no matter what, I will continue to be the positive rub. And if and when it comes time, kick the dust off my sandals and move along, right?
Thank You Father for this wonderful state of awareness that the Good within me can be and should be used to rub off on others. I should never be afraid that the so-called 'bad people' will rub off on me, when I can turn it all around and use the Good within me to rub off on them. From here on out, I will follow Jesus's Way and stand in myself with You. And thank You for the Divine Postive Rub today.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 2:13-17
13 Once again He went out along the sea. All the crowd came to Him and He taught them.
14 As He passed by, He saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed Him.
15 While He was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many who followed Him.
16 Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that He was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to His disciples, "Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
17 Jesus heard this and said to them, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."
