Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

When I am grateful, how do I express it?
Keep a make-up bag or shaving kit in your car, desk or locker so you can freshen up on those longer days. Most drug stores, grocery stores and large discount stores will have travel size products for you to use.

Find an App for your phone where you can log your daily activity and if you are working on your daily caloric intake, then an app where you can log that too. Most apps like this will calculate the calories you burned during that activity.

If you have company over the holiday's then sanitize anything that everyone will grab before they arrive and then sanitize it right after they leave. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, wash the pillows and/or blankets too. You may share DNA with these people but you don't have to share whatever they carried in.

You don't have to eat holiday leftovers all week long. Use your plasticware to send your guests home with a meal and then freeze the rest. I can not stand to waste food but I also do not feel obligated to eat it all either. Plan on sending folks home with meal or dessert. This will give you the feeling of abundance that you have more than enough in Life to share with others.

Louis Pasteur said, "Chance favors the prepared mind." I like to be prepared because I want a great opportunity and a perfect chance to find me easily and effortlessly. And if I am prepared, then I will easily see opportunity and chance when it is right in front of me. In fact, if I am prepared I can see opportunity and chance coming toward me. Prepare your mind for all thing great and your actions will follow.

Did you know the color blue will suppress your appetite? Food served on a blue plate will curb your appetite. Show me one restaurant that is decorated in blue. It's bright colors like orange, yellow and red that stimulate the appetite, which is why you see fast foods using these colors. If you are looking to cut back on calories and you only have white plates, then buy some blue placemats or blue tablecloth to use at dinnertime. If that doesn't work for you then stare at the color blue before you eat. No Kidding! Notice that Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig use the color blue in their logos. |

It contains many important phytochemicals including arbutin, which may benefit the urinary system. There is some research that indicates it can regenerate visual purple, which is necessary for healthy night vision because it strengthens the capillaries. The capillaries are small veins that surround the eyes, therefore the circulation around the eyes is improved. The anthocyanosides may also strengthen the capillaries in the retina, which may help slow macular degeneration.
POTENTIAL BENEFITS: Helps improve night vision, cataracts; recovery from strokes, ulcers; treating angina, diarrhea, glaucoma, menstrual cramps, urinary function and varicose veins. It is also helpful for Raynaud's Disease.
