Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

The fastest way to get rid of belly fat is not by doing more crunches. Crunches will certainly work the muscle underneath the fat on your belly but it will not get rid of that fat on top of the muscle. The only thing that will burn that fat is proper nutrition and plenty of cardio. |

I had a professor in college who constantly walked around with his arms full of papers, pushing up his glasses with one finger and who was notoriously late. The world was ALWAYS waiting on him. Mr. Important! One day I stopped by his office to pick up my graded paper and there I stood waiting on him. As he looked for my paper he bragged about how busy he was and how his office looked like a hurricane hit it. I said to him, "I'm not impressed. It just shows me that you can't handle your stuff." He fell silent. Two days later he thanked me for my comment. |
Don't eat because it's time to eat. Eat because you are hungry. We are usually ready to eat between 5 - 6 hours intervals. If we eat at 7:00 AM then by Noon we are ready to reload. Five hours later we are ready to eat again. This is normal because the body has had a chance to digest, assimilate and eliminate through urination and defecation. When we start gorging reflexively without thinking or adding meals when we are not hungry, the normal cycle gets confused. |
