The job of 'chronic' inflammation is to cause tissue damage or even to the kill tissue. This is why you must address inflammation at the onset. Inflammation is the bodies 'natural response' to heal, not kill. As with everything, too much of a Good thing, isn't. After exercise, one tool for accelerated recovery is to use cold water therapy after your workout to help clear inflammatory biological (cellular) markers.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.

Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.

Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

Below you will see 7 simple activities to accomplish at some point during the day all under the motivation of the the daily mentation question below. You have 24 hours to get through this question along with the 7 activities. READY? SET? GO!

Activities of Daily Living - Mentation Question

What do I feel so destined or compelled to do, that I could not stop doing it if I wanted to?

Activities of Daily Living - Hygiene and Grooming

Your skin is a living organism. In fact, it is the largest organ of your body. It protects from critters, it insulates and regulates your temperature, it is a reservoir for water and food, it absorbs, it secretes and it senses. For all of these reasons and more, you must care for it, clean it and respect it.

Activities of Daily Living - Physical Movement

If you have a hard time doing push-ups, then you are going to LOVE wall-push-ups. Wall-Push-Ups strengthen your arms, shoulders, triceps and chest. Face a wall standing a bit further than arm's length away from the wall with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lean your body forward with your palms flat against the wall at shoulder height and shoulder-width apart. Bend your elbows and touch your nose to the wall. Straighten your elbows and that's one push-up. Easy Peasy Nice and Breezy!

Activities of Daily Living - Housework and Cleaning

If you want more or better of something, then it would be wise to show the Universe that you can handle what you already have. Take care of your things by keeping them clean, organized and useful. If you do not take care of your things, then you must not care all that much for them. Today's housework activity is more mental than physical.

Activities of Daily Living - Financial Management

Before using money, consider the longevity of the item before you make the purchase. Money should be used, not spent. Using money has a deliberate purpose, while spending money can easily turn into an unconscious slide. When longevity is part of the equation, your money will go and grow further.

Activities of Daily Living - Work and Productivity

Being resourceful means having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. Use your resources (what you have right now) to help you become more productive, especially in the midst of a difficult situation. Things, people, time, energy, money and circumstances are all part of your resources. Use them!

Activities of Daily Living - Food Preparation

Cut up vegetables do not always have to be dipped in fattening ranch dressing. Hummus or salsa is a perfect low calorie healthy alternative for dipping vegetables. When you have company over, you can purchase cheap ramekins at the dollar store so no one has to worry about the double-dippers.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
