Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

HYGIENE & GROOMING (Activity)
You spend 1/3 of your Life in bed, which is why it is important to keep your bed very clean. At night we shed skin cells, which serves as food for dust mites. Oh Geez! We also leave sweat, oils and bodily fluids on the linens. For some people, they eat in bed and leave food crumbs. Okay, now that's just gross! Pick a day of the week to wash your sheets and pillow cases. Weekly is perfect! Pick another time to wash your blankets and comforters.
PHYSICAL MOVEMENT (Activity)
Before doing any physical exercise you must warm-up your body first. If you do not warm-up your muscles then they could tighten, the fibers could snap or become easily strained. Before running, working out, or getting on your exercise equipment, do 10 yoga sun salutes before you begin. Stretch and warm-up before doing any kind of physical routine.
HOUSEWORK (Activity)
Moving your furniture and changing the rooms around is Good energy stimulation. Moving furniture can be very easy with furniture sliders. You can pick them up at any hardware store or big chain discount store. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what the doctor ordered. As a Gemini and chameleon of the zodiac, I am constantly changing furniture, which makes a new perspective. Also, if you show up in the same place, same seat each week (like church), change your seating and change your perspective.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (Activity)
Plan your future. If you do not plan a future for yourself then you are not placing your order with the Universe. How can you expect Universal support when you are not even placing your order. You will likely not act on something that you are not clear about. Place your order, do you part by acting on it and then watch the Universe support your efforts.
WORK & PRODUCTIVITY (Activity)
If you do not yet know what your purpose or mission is, then at least do what you Love. When we do what we Love, it's usually something we would do even if we were never paid for it. Sometimes our mission or purpose is different from our work. Career and passion or mission is not always connected but yet they are where one supports the other. Whatever you do and no matter what you do - do what you Love.
FOOD PREPARATION (Activity)
I use onions a lot when I cook and I never cry when I peel, cut, slice or dice them. I was reading a recipe the other day where the tip was to cut the onion under a small stream of water to keep from crying. I smiled because that's what I have always done. I lay the cutting board across the sink and allow a small stream of water to run over the onion while I cut it.
