Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

What's worse than being grossed out by the one you Love? If you can ditch your ego and if your relationship can stand it, ask your partner what it is about your hygiene or grooming that is just downright unattractive. After all, if they can't tell you, then who can? If you are single, ask a close friend who might give you some honest feedback.

Walking the mall, the track at the local high school, the perimeter of your property or your subdivision are all certainly do-able. I walk the perimeter of the property several times a day in between phone calls and writings. I call it a 'moving meditation'. While I walk, I meditate. And sometimes I put in my earbuds and talk on the phone. Still, I walk.

3 minutes, 3 hours or 3 days. That's how long I give myself to get home projects accomplished. Even if I need to change a lightbulb, my head says, "3 minutes" so I get up and get 'er done. I have been known to change the sofa's around in 3 minutes or the kitchen table in 3 minutes. I change furniture around a lot because I like change. 3 minutes, 3 hours, 3 days. GO!

Most successful moneymakers will tell you that the best advice they were ever given was, "You can do anything you set your mind to." I was told this same thing early on in my Life and I believed it. I still believe it! So I 'set my mind' to it like I was setting a clock. I just dialed in and set myself.

I always say, "The reason why I am so organized is because I am too lazy to look for my keys." Do you realize how much time or energy disorganization takes? I'm an incredibly energetic person but spending my energy looking for keys is simply out of the question. Believe me folks, you can get more accomplished by 7:00 AM than most people do in a day if you are organized.

Eat breakfast like a King/Queen, lunch like a working man/woman and dinner like a pauper. Meaning, your first meal of the day should be the biggest and not the other way around. You need ATP (adenosine triphosphate) to get you through the day. ATP is the energy currency of Life. ATP is a high-energy molecule that actually stores the energy we need to do EVERYTHING! ATP is a 'transporter' of chemical energy for metabolism. If you do not fill up at the start of the day, then you are running on fumes throughout the day. |
