Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.
Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.
Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

Use pillows to help you sleep better. Side sleepers put a pillow between your knees to keep your hips from torquing and your back from twisting. Back sleepers put a pillow under your knees to take pressure off your low back. Belly sleepers need to just stop doing that because it pulls on your low back, breasts, organs and face. For 7-8 hours that's a lot of pulling and drooping (gravity), not to mention your neck has to be twisted the entire time since you can't sleep on your face. NO Belly sleeping!
Folks, you are not getting any younger. Get your buns up and out of the chair. There is no day like today, which makes it the perfect day to discipline yourself into doing something active and mobile. For 30 minutes today, keep your body in constant motion even if it is only walking.
The easiest way to keep a clean house is to have less stuff. There are some things that just stand to reason and this is one of those things. Spend 30 minutes today going through the house with a bag or a box and loading it up with things that you will donate. If you haven't used it in a couple of years, chances are you aren't going to use it and now you are just coveting it. On your mark! Get set! Go!
Save money by using less products. I think one exception to this is 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner (LOL) but that's just me. EEEEK! Other than that, go through your cleaning products and start using the ones that are opened and then decide which products are Good for more than one job and stick with it. I'm a fan of 'Awesome' that I get at the dollar store. I have used it in the laundry, for stains on carpet and on the countertops.
There is nothing wrong with saying, "No thank you" if you don't want to go, if you have other plans, if you can't make it, if it doesn't appeal to you or if you just don't feel like it. It really is okay rather than saying "yes" and not being sincere, or worse saying "yes" and not showing up at all. The worst is for wedding invites when a plate has been paid and reserved for you. It's okay to say, "Sorry, I can't make it" and remain True to yourself and honest with others.
Get rid of the bacon grease by microwaving the bacon. Place 2-3 sheets of paper towels on a microwave-safe plate. Lay the bacon on the paper towels. Make sure not to overlap the slices. Place 2-3 more sheets of paper towel on top. Heat in the microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes and BAM you will have more nutritious bacon that greasy bacon.
