Activities of Daily Living

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a real term used in healthcare that refers to daily basic self-care activities in an individual's residence, outdoor environment or both. The ability or inability that an individual performs their ADLs is a measure of the functional status of the individual, particularly the injured, those with disabilities and the elderly. Very young children require assistance from adults to perform ADLs since they have not yet developed the skills necessary to perform ADLs on their own.

Basic ADLs (bADLs) are the things we normally do such as bathing, dressing, feeding ourselves, functional mobility, personal hygiene and grooming. Instrumental ADLs (iADLs) are things such as housework, money management, preparing meals, shopping and work.

Sometimes it is necessary to review the rules of kindergarten to remember how to be nice to others and use Good manners. And sometimes we just need to go back to the basics of the 'Activities of Daily Living' in order to take better care of ourselves and start living Life rightly.

Wet wipes are necessary for both men and women after urinating or having a bowel movement. Bacteria multiplies rapidly in the moist and warm conditions, which makes it all too easy for bacteria to build up in the foreskin of the penis or in the labia folds. Toilet paper residue can also get caught up in the labia. Keep the bacteria and odor to a minimum and use a wet wipe.

Wall sits aka Roman chair is one of my favorite 'unfavorite' exercises. I can't stand it, but I Love it! It's tough and powerful. Place your back against a wall, feet shoulder width apart and a little ways out from the wall. Keep your back against the wall and then slowly lower your hips until your knees form right angles. Like you are sitting in a chair against the wall. Starting out you may be standing with your knees barely bent but eventually you will be sitting against the wall like you are really sitting on a chair.

Surround yourself with productive and successful individuals. There are two certainties in Life beyond death and taxes. 1) Birds of a feather flock together. 2) Water seeks its own level. For instance, if you tip over a glass of water it will always seek to level itself. So there you have it, productive and successful people will always flock together and seek their own level. The same goes with unsuccessful people.

Get back to basics and collect some recipes. Turn a little old fashion by collecting recipes and maybe even wearing an apron. I get my old-fashioned aprons from e-Bay. If you are going to spend so much time in the kitchen opening and closing the refrigerator door, then get serious and creative about it by prepping, cooking and eating better, and maybe even looking like you mean kitchen business.

DESCRIPTION: Bilberry contains compounds known as anthocyanosides, which are very potent antioxidants. It is also rich in bioflavonoids, manganese, phosphorus, iron and zinc. It contains many important phytochemicals including arbutin, which may benefit the urinary system. There is some research that indicates it can regenerate visual purple, which is necessary for healthy night vision because it strengthens the capillaries. The capillaries are small veins that surround the eyes, therefore the circulation around the eyes is improved. The anthocyanosides may also strengthen the capillaries in the retina, which may help slow macular degeneration.
