What will it take, what will I have to go through, before I will prune and clean up my Life?
"The key is never to skip a year in pruning."
~John Clark
I prune and shape up my own Life.
I prune and clean up my own backyard.
For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's reading below serves as a strong reminder that I must always remain attached to You like a fruit on the vine. Jesus reminds us that You are vineyard owner who grows the vines, He is the vine and we are the fruit. We are to remain attached to Him at all times. This is quite a visual because if I detach myself from Him, then I cannot survive. Even the dead unproductive branches on His vine will be pruned. The key is remaining attached to His vine like a juicy plump shiney grape. It is I who have to hold on to Him because He has already extended His branch to me. I just have to hold on and stay nourished by Him. Unless I stay attached, then I could easily fall to the ground and wither away. Thank You for this awareness that I must make every moment count and remain productive throughout my days.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 15:4-10
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
9 As the Father has Loved Me, so have I Loved you; abide in My Love.
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My Love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His Love.
