Fenugreek is rich in Vitamins A and D and also contains smaller amounts of Vitamins B1, B2 and B3. Fenugreek contains an oil that is similar to cod liver oil and is high in protein. It also contains the minerals choline and iron and some lecithin.
Fenugreek works on softening hardened mucus and helps to expel toxic waste via the lymphatic system. It helps to expel mucus from the lungs and bowels. Since Fenugreek does contain some lecithin, it helps to reduce cholesterol and also contains lipotropic substances, which are fat dissolving substances. The lecithin helps to dissolve fatty accumulation and relieve the body of water retention. When Fenugreek is combined with lemon juice and honey, it helps to soothe the body and reduce fevers.
