| THOUGHT 6 EAT WHEN YOU'RE HUNGRY |
Don't eat because it's time to eat. Eat because you are hungry.
We are usually ready to eat between 5 and 6 hours intervals. If we eat at 7:00 a.m., then by Noon we're ready to reload. When the 5:00 hour hits we're ready for the last meal of the day. This is normal because the body has had a chance to digest, assimilate (use the food) and eliminate through urination and defecation. When we start gorging reflexively without thinking or adding meals when we are not hungry, the cycle gets confused.
There are some people who require up to 6 meals a day because their body runs on a higher metabolism. You can speed up your metabolism too through moving meditations. Go to the moving meditations section of the site and find one that resonates with you. It's that simple.
It will take 12 - 24 hours for one meal to pass through our body. The body naturally wants to have 3 - 4 bowel movements a day. Anything less than this is not physiologically normal. If you are less than 3 - 4 bowel movement a day, this may be normal for your body if you have trained it to react this way, but it is not normal physiology.
You can tell how your body processes food by the timing of the bowel movements. You should have a bowel movement 20 - 30 minutes after any meal. It is called the gastro-colic reflex. Gastro = stomach. Colic = colon. Once food hits the stomach, then the gastro-colic reflex should kick in within 20 - 30 minutes and a bowel movement should happen.
Urination should take place every 2 hours and always after sex. That is normal physiology for the body to cleanse the toxins. Keep in mind urination and defecation is eliminating toxins from the body. If you choose to hold your urine or not answer the gastro-colic reflex, then you are keeping toxic waste accumulated in your body. It may show up with skin conditions, bad breath, ugly attitude, etc.
Make a fist right now. This is the size of your baked potato, serving of vegetables and the size of your apple or orange. It is the size of your serving of fish, chicken or meat. When you turn your hand over in the shape of a bowl, this is how many nuts and seeds you can get into your hand. It's the serving size of the berries you eat at breakfast.
Super-sized portions of food will only super-size your body. Get conscious and take a look at the children. Even they have become super-sized.
Learn how to eat when you are hungry and then teach these habits to your family.
