Father, today's reading about the pain of childbirth is such a perfect reminder for me, that pain is always temporary. Pain is also a Good motivator. There is always something Good on the other side of pain or sorrow. There are times when I can not see that fact here on earth but I absolutely and unequivocally know that this is True on the other side of Life when You call me back to Yourself. I do know that and that is comforting and sweet to my thoughts. Your Son Jesus said, 'If ye shall ask anything of Me in My name, I will do it.' And even though I believe His words, in the quiet chambers of my mind, I still find myself getting anxious and fearful knowing full well that everything is according to Your Will and Your Divine Plan. Everything will be as it should. Please grant me the patience and tolerance necessary to calm my spirit and remember that You have everything under Perfect and Divine control and that I have nothing to fear or worry. If there is anything specific that I need to be doing, I ask for Your immediate guidance and specific direction.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 16:20-23
20 "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices; you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
21 When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world.
22 So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
23 On that day you will not question Me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you."
