"Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe."
I use my time, wisely.
For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's reading below is very similar to the reading on September 17th, only the last line of today's reading Matthew speaks of repayment, where on the 17th Luke spoke of acknowledgment. I wondered, if You were to repay me for the things I have done in this Life, what would that repayment look like. Would I have earned the repayment that I claim to seek and work toward or would I earn a repayment that might blindside me if I don't open my eyes. Thank You for this simple, yet powerful awareness as I continue to seek You, listen to You and do Your will.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood and Most Holy Face.
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
24 Then Jesus told His disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life?
27 For the Son of man is to come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will repay every man for what he has done."
