DAILY
MENTATION

Can I recognize when I am just being difficult and refuse to listen?

DAILY
QUOTE

"Good things come slowly to those who are difficult."

~Dr. Loretta Standley

DAILY
AFFIRMATION

I am a grateful and graceful participant in my own Life.

DAILY PRAYER

For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.

Father, what an interesting reading today, although I do admit, it took me a while to get, the get. I could not figure out how the children playing in the marketplace had anything to do with the next few lines of the reading and then it dawned on me that no one was willing to listen. Certainly there is a time and a place for everything but no matter where the children played their musical games no one would listen. And so it goes with adults and their games. No matter how wonderful and great Jesus and John the Baptist were, their words and deeds fell on deaf ears. It was clear there was a lot of jealousy and resentment from the scribes, Pharisees and others but as Jesus once said, "A prophet is not known in his own town (country)." It didn't matter what Jesus and John did, they were never going to get proper credit or acknowledgment from those who were spiritually blind. There was not one thing that Jesus and John were going to do to please the hardened hearts. The only thing that the scribes and Pharisees were successful in doing was delaying or halting their own spiritual progression path simply because they chose to be difficult. Thank You for this awareness today and showing me that sometimes I delay my own Goodness and blessings from You just because I choose to be difficult. It really is as simple as that. From here on out, I will do better to consciously slow down my energy, quieten my mind and shush my ego so I can hear and feel You working in my Life. Thank You for this awareness.

Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood and Most Holy Face. Amen~

DAILY SCRIPTURE

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Luke 7:31-35

31 "To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?

32 They are like children sitting in the market place and calling to one another, `We piped to you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not weep.'

33 For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say, `He has a demon.'

34 The Son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, `Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'

35 Yet wisdom is justified by all her children."
