DAILY PRAYER
For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father,
There are times when I treat strangers with less attention and respect than I should. I know how judgmental I can be and I also know how unattractive I can be when I behave in this way. Yet, I don't know why I do this and I offer no excuse. As I think about this lack of attention and respect toward strangers and those who assist me in my everyday Life, it has made me think more about how I treat those who are closest to me and those that I Love, including my friends and family. Father, help me to become the Loving and kind person that you made me to be and help me to see your "I AM" presence in every person who I come in contact with. Please help me to be a more forgiving, tolerant and merciful. I do realize what I have 'not' done to the least of your brothers and sisters, I have also done to You. Please help me be more attentive toward humanity and to move through my Life with grace and humility.Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood and Most Holy Face, I thank You in advance for answering my prayer. Amen~
DAILY SCRIPTURE
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matthew 23:23-26
[Jesus said to them . . . ]
23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. (But) these you should have done, without neglecting the others.
24 Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!
25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence.
26 Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may be clean.
