"For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumber upon the bed; then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction." Job 33:14-16

Like most of you, I have always been interested in my dreams and what the heck do they mean? I even searched out the best professional dream interpreters in the land to teach me more about my dreamless and sometimes dreamy nights.

Through this process, I learned that when I dream, I am the director of these dreams and as the dream interpreters told me, "only you can finally provide the true interpretation and meaning of your dreams." They taught me how to organize the material that was presented in my dream, but ultimately I have the final say so as to what a symbol means to me.

SYMBOLISM

E.g. - A horse in a dream is usually associated with sex or faithfulness. But when I think of what a horse means to me, it signifies power, strength and freedom. So a horse in my dream would be exactly what I think it means and not what an author says it means.

I was also taught if I dream of a certain person in my dream, I am to recall three characteristics about the person. Those three things are directly about me that I need to see within myself.

E.g. - If I dream about my daughter, I would come up with three things that describe her. I would say she's independent, responsible and intelligent. I would then apply this information to myself. Meaning, if I had been standing in doubt or fear, my dream would remind me of my own qualities. I orchestrated a dream to remind me of my gifts and this would help me if I was afraid to make a decision or if I was having trouble in a certain area of my life. I conducted a dream to take my power back.

E.g. - If I dreamed about two people. One male and one female, I would do the same thing. The female would apply to me and the male would apply to a man in my life that I was dealing with at the time. This could be a relationship with father, love interest, brother, etc., whoever I was having an issue with at the time. So again, I would name three characteristics about each person.

THINGS HAPPEN IN 3'S

I try to make a mental note when things happen in three's. This is because God brought a lot of awareness to people in three's and Jesus did a lot of things in three's. Most of the time, I try to address something that comes in front of me as soon as it happens because I don't wish to witness three clues before I straighten up and fly right. So I actually like to remember the following scripture because it helps me look at my dreams in a spiritual way. Even this scripture reflects the reality that we may not "get it" the first or second time.

God has a history of coming to us in our dreams and may even send a few Angels to whisper instruction to us. He sent Angels to Mary, Joseph, and Jacob - and the list goes on and on. It time to start paying attention to your dreams.
