ZIPPITY-DO-DAH, ZIPPITY AYE!

Read the last Daily Message titled, Always UP!

Audio'Siyo or Osiyo [Hello in Cherokee]

This morning's Musical DLG ™  (Musical Download from God ™ ) was "Beautiful Day" by U2. I never really paid too much attention to the mega-band U2 until I met The Scorpion King. I've never known another person who is quite the fan(atic) as he is. Words just can't describe it, so it's no wonder sooner or later I would wake up with a U2 Musical DLG ™  with all the influence around me.

Quite honestly, I never really gave this song much thought until this morning, which is interesting because if The Scorpion King even remotely hears the word "beautiful" or the word "day" then he will burst into this song as if on cue. As I lay there listening to the intro, I thought to myself, "Oh no, not this song!" Then I decided to just relax, allow the Musical DLG ™  to sink it and contemplate the message. While it would be easy enough to just tune into just the dark moments that the guy is going through in the lyrics, it actually turns out that the guy accepts where he's at and enjoys the moment and simply what is now. Life, it's a beautiful day! There is obviously more important things in his Life than possessions, money or even his physical home.

The song took me back to some really tough times in early 2000, which is the first several years of building this website. I have written about this before. I was completely out of money. I mean OUT OF IT! Zero! Nada! Kaputz! I was so financially strapped that I had to upload my website at the coffee shop several blocks away because I didn't have electricity for two weeks solid in the dead middle of winter. Heck, I just went on with my website business and didn't miss a beat. Whatever folks! I had better things to do with my spirit than worry about electricity. I spent a lot of hours in a warm coffee shop and then went home to sleep under 18 thousand blankets. It may have been wintertime but my rational brain told me the situation was only temporary. Right? I distinctly remember not being so shaken up by it. Things were as they were and I still had what I needed. Heck, my visitors never even knew what I was going through until I wrote about it several years later. I accepted my situation and simply kept moving along with my Life without breaking stride in order to make it better. Zippity-do-dah, zippity aye! And now this website is one of the largest holistic healthcare websites in the world. Uh huh, that's right, that's what I said. I have some violin stories during that time in my Life that would make going without electricity look like a walk in the park. And here I am! I'm telling you, if you think you can't do something because you have no money, then you probably can't . . but I'm living proof you sure as hell can. I walked the path of the guy in the lyrics with the sky falling and agree whole-heartedly, "It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away."

BEAUTIFUL DAY
by U2
(Lyrics are below the video)

The heart is a bloom,
Shoots up through the stony ground
But there's no room,
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care,
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you can lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
The sky falls
And you feel like it's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if it doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me, Take me to that other place
Teach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light, and
See the bird with the leaf in her mouth
After the flood, all the colors came out

It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day

Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

Audio'Siyo or Osiyo [Hello in Cherokee]

This morning's Musical DLG ™  (Musical Download from God ™ ) was "We May Never Pass This Way Again" by Seals  &  Crofts. Now when is the last time you heard a song by Seals  &  Crofts? Gee, I remember way back in 1977, possibly '78 (high school) when I was working for a rental car company, I had to deliver a car to a hotel and it was for Seals  &  Crofts. There they were, standing in the hotel lobby waiting for me to deliver their car. Did you know both their names really do end in an "s"? I didn't know that until the day they rented the car, James (Jim) Seals and Darrell (Dash) Crofts. Okay, now I'm name dropping. (winky wink)

This song served as a strong reminder of how making my Life work for me, instead of me working for my Life, is the right way to roll. I'm pretty clear about what I want and what I don't want. One thing I don't want is for my Life to look the exact same next year as it does this year. This 'does not' mean that I feel unhappy or dissatisfied. In fact, I am quite happy and fulfilled. Since we are talking about next year, well then certainly, I look forward to improvement and betterment. A promotion to the next level in Life so to speak. My feeling is if I'm still here next year, then there has to be more that was meant for me. If I'm still here next year, then I was meant to not only do more but experience more. That makes a lot of sense to me. Think about it, even in school you are expected to move up to the next grade level. You're not expected to repeat a grade although some people will do just that. If my Life looked the same year after year, then I must not have been doing my part to make my Life work for me. Remember, even in school we have to do homework. If my Life looks the same next year, then I didn't do much homework. And since I don't know if I will ever pass this way again, I may as well take it UP. Always UP.

We May Never Pass This Way Again
by Seals and Crofts
(Lyrics below the video)

Life, so they say
is but a game and
they'd let it slip away
Love, like the Autumn sun
should be dyin'
but it's only just begun

Like the twilight
in the road up ahead
they don't see just
where we're goin'
And all the secrets
in the universe
whisper in our ears
And all the years
will come and go
take us up, always up

We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again

Dreams, so they say
are for the fools
and they let 'em drift away
Peace, like the silent dove
should be flyin'
but it's only just begun

Like Columbus in the olden days
we must gather
all our courage
Sail our ships out on the open sea
Cast away our fears
And all the years will come and go
and take us up, always up

We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again

So, I wanna laugh while the laughin' is easy
I wanna cry if it makes it worthwhile
I may never pass this way again
that's why I want it with you
'Cause, you make me feel like
I'm more than a friend
Like I'm the journey and
you're the journey's end
I may never pass this way again
that's why I want it with you, baby

We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again
We may never pass this way again
