PISCES - "I BELIEVE, THEREFORE I AM."
Mercury is in Pisces from Sunday, February 10, 2019 until Wednesday, April 17, 2019. That is a heck of a long time for Mercury to be in a sign, when Mercury typically stays in a sign for 14 to 17 days on average. This is due to a Retrograde (Rx). Mercury in Pisces will turn Retrograde on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 29 degrees Pisces and start heading backward in degrees. Mercury will then turn Direct on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 16 degrees. Now let's think about this. There has to be a reason why the Universe is taking us all the way back to 16 degrees Mercury in Pisces. That time period will be February 19 and 20, 2019 when Mercury in Pisces was at 16 degrees. Now if you are reading this before Mercury even turns Retrograde, then you want to pay close attention to February 19 and 20 when those dates arrive. Then when Mercury turns Retrograde on March 5th at 28 degrees, then turns Direct on March 28th at 16 degrees, then you will already be on top of the reason why you had to be taken back to that time period.
It is important to remember that Mercury will be in its pre-retrograde storm right at about 2 weeks before Mercury turns Retrograde and that will be right at February 19th. What? Wow! You have got to be kidding me!!! The day that we will start feeling the Retrograde coming (February 19th) is the same date that we want to remember on March 28th when Mercury turns Direct.
Do you know what? February 19, 2019 is also the date of the Full Moon (Supermoon) in Virgo at 00 degrees 42 minutes. So February 19, 2019 proves in more ways that one (actually 3 ways) that this is an important date. 1) It is the date of the start of the pre-retrograde storm. 2) It is the date where Mercury is at 16 degrees, which is the degrees we want to remember when Mercury turns Direct at 16 degrees on March 28, 2019. 3) And it is the date of the Full Moon Supermoon in Virgo at 00 degrees 42 minutes.
Also keep in mind that it takes a while for Mercury to get back up to speed after having been on idle for three (3) weeks. Mercury has to slowly get back up to speed, like a locomotive gradually picking up speed, before we get back to normal. Mercury moves at about 1 to 1-1/2 degrees per day, so the day of normalcy will be right at about Tuesday, April 9, 2019. So the nutshell, from February 19, 2019 when Mercury enters it pre-retrograde storm until April 9, 2019 leaves its post-retrograde shadow, we will be dealing with Mercury related issues. You know the drill, no signing new agreements, contracts, leases, binding agreements. It's best not to have surgeries during this time because Mercury is the co-ruler of Virgo and Gemini and Virgo rules physical health. It's best not to buy any communication related equipment or anything with wires because Mercury is the planet that runs the gadgets. It is lower octave of Uranus, which rules electricity and lightning. It is best not to purchase new automobiles or transportation because Mercury rules them. It is best not to sign up for any new learning workshop, lecture, etc., do it before Mercury turns Retrograde because Mercury rules Gemini, learning, mental abilities and how we learn. It is best not to book travel during this time either since Mercury rules travel communication.
Mercury stands for the intellect, common sense, cold reason, commerce and business. Its qualities are fluidity and versatility. Its position and aspects tell us about our communication and learning habits and our modes of thinking. The house that Mercury occupies in your Natal Chart is where these characteristics will manifest the most.
Here is a nice little piece of Mercury trivia for you. Mercury will never be more than one Sun Sign away from the Sun. This means someone who has their Sun in Pisces, will have their Mercury within 1 Sun Sign on either side of Pisces or it will be in the sign of Pisces. This means there are only three possibilities that a Pisces Sun Sign individual might have their Mercury in -- Mercury in Aquarius, Mercury in Pisces or Mercury in Aries. This helps you guess someone's Mercury even if you don't know their exact birthdate but you know their Sun Sign. You can pretty much rule out Mercury in the opposite sign (Virgo) or the four signs on each side Virgo (Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn) and (Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus).
When Mercury enters the Sun Sign of Pisces this can be pretty cool intuitive energy. It's important to note that Mercury rules the mind, mental abilities and mental telepathy, while Pisces rules intuition, imagination, dreams and fantasy. When these two planets are coupled up it is highly intuitive along with a high imagination. Since Mercury rules the mind and telepathy and Pisces rules intuition, then this can help you tune into to others thoughts. While you may not be able to read someone's mind it can sure feel that way because you are so in-tune with their thoughts. You know how you might say, "I was just thinking that!" or "I was just going to say that!" or when someone calls you and then you say, "I was just going to call you!"
Mercury in Pisces is in a double-debility with this placement, meaning Mercury can 'easily' be infirmed and weak when in the sign of Pisces. You see folks, no 'planet in a sign' (Mercury in Pisces in this case) is ever weak on its own. In order for a 'planet in a sign' to be strong or weak, it needs help from you. It is your influence, your take on it, your actions and reactions that will determine if it is strong or weak. Oh yeah, you betcha Astrology makes plenty of room for your God-given free will. Mercury in Pisces is in its debility, meaning that it has an 'easy' and I mean 'very easy' capacity to turn infirmed or weak. It's right there where it can and will go either way. What you do with this energy is up to you. As a double-debility, this means that Mercury is not only in its 'detriment', it is also in its 'fall'. This is because Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so it is in its 'detriment' with Gemini and 'fall' with Virgo. Remember, it is your take on it.
Mercury in Pisces does have a difficult time distinguishing fact from fantasy or fact from fiction. Remember, Mercury rules the reasoning mind and the intellect while Pisces rules dreams and imagination. "Is it live or is it Memorex?" (Remember that commercial tagline?) You may slip into a fairytale for a bit and get caught up in something that really isn't reality. It may slide into temporary escapism where the slippery little fish (Pisces) slips away and pulls the Great Houdini Act and escapes into a bottle of booze, a bad relationship or behavior that is unbecoming. Maybe you just don't want to know the Truth. Maybe you can't handle the Truth. Maybe you're just in denial.
Keep in mind that there are two fish symbolized by the Pisces glyph. There is one fish that goes one way and one fish that goes the other way. So today you might be in a total reality check and tomorrow you are right back where you started, in that swirl of dream world that is nothing close to your Truth. Well, the easy fix is that you trust your gut and not your dreamy, fanciful, over-active and vivid imagination.
You can however take this energy and channel it into something productive rather than swirling in that old cesspool. This transit has the ability to take that snapshot in your photographic mind and bring that snapshot into physical manifestation. Do not lose your ability to visualize. Fish have an eye on each side of their head so they can take it all in. So vision and in-vision! The Ocean is a big place and there is a lot to see. You must make use of these big ol' fish eyeballs and visualize what you desire. My Poppyseed (dad, who is a Pisces) gave me some 'huge fish eyeball advice' one day when I first started this website that I never will forget. He said if I had a dream or a vision, then I need to in-vision it right in front of me and do not take my eyes off of it. He said if I did that, then that vision would come true. You see folks, not only is Pisces the most intuitive sign of the zodiac, Pisces is also the visionary of the zodiac. My Poppyseed (dad) even used the word, "vision." They most certainly have vision (external) and invision (internal). Freakin' double vision is what Pisces energy has with an eyeball on each side of the head so they get that 360 degree view that no one else has. Let me hear you say, "FISH EYEBALLS!"
Folks, this Mercury in Pisces energy is intuitive, visionary, telepathic and imaginative. Just make certain that you do not get caught up in the negative and fearful influences of this energy and end up tangling with energy that could take you off your intended path. If you get too dreamy or too fearful, then you veer off and it will take you longer to get back on track. Stay Astrologized™.
